Should there be a continuation or more "between episodes" made that are similar to the movie?

I'd go ask my roommate about this as he quite enjoyed that anime... but its quarter past two in the morning here and I probably shouldn't wake him up...

Hmmm, well Bebop was mostly an episodic anime (although there were some overarching storylines, obviously) so new episodes cóuld work, a prequel cóuld also work. Obviously a continuation wouldn't work, the end is définatly the end for this anime. But even though there are things that cóuld work, I doubt they will ever be as good as the orignal series, so I'll choose to leave it be.

PS: The movie will be shit, an utter devastation of the anime. This was my reaction [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxFIVX1s] when I heard that Keanu Reeves will play Spike. It's going to be a trainwreck I'm sure, one too horrible to watch out of sadistic amusement.

I know this isn't an anime forum and the consensus here is that anime sucks but if you haven't seen this anime I highly recommend you go out and do so. It's a classic. That being said I think there could be a few episodes after the duel.

Argh I apologize, I should have specified between the actual anime movie and the Keanu Spiegel one.

In the post I am refering to the one already made.

Ooo, well, I think my point about the new live-action movie still stands ;-)

But yes I understand now, well as I sad I think it cóuld work but I doubt that they will match the quality of the original. Maybe if the original creators would make some new "between episode's" or a prequel, yes, but if not...I doubt they will be good enough.

Cowboy Bebop.

Anyways, I think that it should stay where it is, don't advance any further.

Plenty of room for In Between Episodes in my opinion.
Pretty much my opinion. And I wanna see the Live Action Movie, although it's probably gonna be pretty bad.

i would say, hell no on more episodes after the ending. its sapposed to give you a sad, what the hell happens now feeling. Because that is the way the characters feel.
Since the movie they made was great. you could add more stuff in the middle but thats it no prequels cause they tell you in the show what happens in the past. and no more eps after the dual..i dont want closer, i want a great ending to a series and they have provided.
boom

I think anything with more Bebop (as long as it is free of Mr. Reeves) is awesome!

So, nobody thinks there would potential in anything after the Spike VS Vicious duel?

What if Spike lived? Even the maker of the series said "I don't even know if Spike dies or not".

I'm sorry, I do not know what Cowbot Bebop is. Although I can only assume it has something to do with a cow that is also a robot.

/end snark

I wouldn't mind seeing Spike make a comeback, but his death was just so damn perfect.

Plus if they made new episodes they'd probably be shite.

And don't even talk to me about the live action movie...

It's probably the only TV series, live or anime, that had the dignity to end when it actually narratively should have. The male character dies in a film noir. That's how the story works, that's why the show is so great, and that's why bringing him back to life would be lame.

I'd have hopes that they aren't going to milk the series but at this point the movie destroyed any fantasies of that happening.

Deep down, the reason I want more is because I feel that a mere twenty six episodes and a single movie don't justify the grand display of this series. It has to be one of the most creative series.

Each planet has a music theme.
It effectively combined science fiction, film noir, gangster flicks, with a loner spirit...had a great cast, KICKASS soundtrack, and overall was a very dignified anime that became a work of art over the term "Japanese anime".

Sorry, but I just...want more. Yet I like the ending.

One skill in storytelling is to know when to end the story for good. CB is one of the best of its kind and any tampering would probably be for the worse. Instead, I'd like to see new works of the genius director (Samurai Champloo kicked butt).
