Poll: Crackdown 1 and 2

i do so love sandbox games. any game where i can free roam (just cause 2, saints row 2, RDR, etc.) is always welcome in my house. and a game where i can free roam from rooftop to rooftop (spiderman 2, prototype, etc.) is a small ray of sunshine that warms me up and brightens my day (until i have to leave the house).

i know only of crackdown 1 by name. i have never played it, i have never heard if it was good or bad and i dont trust online game reviews. but since i heard yahtzee's review of crackdown 2 and how it was an open world sandbox where you play a supercop, i have been wondering whether or not i should get it. but like i did with saints row 2 (which i loved), i enjoyed the game but i didnt understand 90% of the story because i didnt play saints row 1.

should i get crackdown 1 first? or go straight into 2? are either of them any good?

P.S. i dont have gamefly and there is no game rental anywhere near me. so its buy or dont buy in this case.

Get 1, it's cheaper because it's older and it's literally the same game as the second.

CR1 has the same weapons and city and level up features. There are very few differences.

CR1 is 8 dollars tops. CR2 is 60.

Normally money isn't much of a factor but in this case it is the only factor.

I liked both but I'd say Crackdown 1 since there really isn't too much change between the two and plus the first one has Keys to the City mode.

no man it's actually interesting. this agency scientist is humiliated so she sabotages the clone program, unleashes the zombie virus, and blames it on the agency. then, she creates a terrorist group with the remaining citizens to fight the agency. don't know how deeper it goes but i found it pretty interesting.

well if you say so, all I know is that every review Ive heard about the 2nd one says its got somehow less story then the first

Do you have one friend who'll buy a copy of CD1, or three friends who'll do the same for CD2? I'd go for the first just because of price.

Get crackdown 1 because 2 feels like a $60 expansion pack.
