It attempts to do sandbox in a new and original way but only winds up becoming an arcade game. Final score - Meh.

I said buy, I found it to be fun on a bun for a while, until the disk scratched but that's hardly the game's fault.

I am buyin due to the fact that the game is dirt cheap and easy to buy. Also I don't like to rent games.

its a fun game and with keys to the city it can be whatever you want it to.
nothing makes you laugh like plowing through a croud of people using a jeep or a car with guns on the side.

Personally, I rent all my console games through GameFly these days. Its not that I hate games, it just sucks having all these games kicking around my house not being played.

That's how I played Crackdown and I haven't regretted it. Fun game, might be worth buying, but I don't have enough time to play it constantly anyway.

Hrmph, I've had Sonic Chronicles on rental from GameFly, sitting in my DS over over two months, barely getting played. I hate to let it go because I've slogged my way so far through it, but it's not quite worth the full price.

Think about it. Its basically a super-powered GTA with co-op. I've gotten it a year ago and still play it once in a while. Good times.

Do you enjoy running at 100mph spawning explosive barrels out of your arse to set of a processor-breaking chain reaction? If so yes, and stay off the sugar.

I go with the rule of if it costs more to buy than it would to rent twice, rent it first.

I say rent it
Its short enough that you can go through the story within a week easily
and jumping over rooftops is entertaining yes, but can get boring eventualy.

I bought Crackdown after playing the demo (after the Halo 3 beta was over so I wasn't of that crowd) and I don't regret it at all. It gave me a lot of fun... every now and then I get a hankering to take it out and give it another run, though unfortunately either real life or another new game crops up and diverts me again.

One day, though, I will return and scale the Agency Tower again just for kicks.

Arcade game? What do you even mean?

And even if that were true, what's wrong with arcade games to begin with? I've played some arcade games more than I've played Morrowind and Oblivion combined.

But yeah, a wackier, co-op GTA. It is fun. With friends, it's that much more fun.

Rent. It's fun, you'll get a few hours of enjoyment out of it, but ultimately, it's not worth the cash. Hope this is helpful :)

My ambition is to max out my drive skill and ascend the agency tower in the SUV.

Can't be that expensive now... just go and buy it. I challenge thee to find all the green orbs in one rental period.

Although it isn't necessarily just THAT sort of collect item game. I just wanted to get all the green orbs is all.

Its fair old now so you might as well buy it. But I thought it was shit everything about it was shit but that's just me. If it does appeal to you then go buy it. Hopefully your experience with it is better then mine.

I'm *certain* that you can find a used copy for under ten dollars. It's certainly worth that. Buy it.

I spent less than $20 on mine and I bought it from a gamestop. worth picking up if you can get a deal on it.
