I'll put it like this: I've enjoyed my time with Cracked more as a general rule because the articles are varied and interesting and usually have a good sense of humor about them. But if I ever go to TVTropes, I'm not getting out for at least a couple hours. Far more addicting, IMO

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Cracked has probably caused my GPA to be at least half a point lower then it could have been.

Cracked holds my attention for longer, (and even then I normally skim articles) but I am by no means a regular to either site.

TV Tropes tends to use a lot of phrases that have their own pages to describe other things, making me have to visit another page to know what they're talking about. I don't like that at all. At the very least, I can read a Cracked article without having to do some independent reading.

It should also be noted that TV Tropes has a very basic visual aesthetic that isn't very appealing at all.

For a couple of years now I have read every new list on Cracked that they add daily in my band class. Best way to spend a school period.

I enjoy them both, but Cracked has sucked way more of my life. I really can't say why I prefer cracked over TVtropes, I love TV more than general comedy, but I guess it's easier to find something I didn't know I'd like on Cracked.

I kind of prefer TVtropes because it admits to being 'breezy non-factual' a lot of cracked articles are wrong or skewed for humor. Which would be fine if most people didn't take them as absolute truth.

I can think of instances when people on this VERY THREAD linked/quoted/referenced something from one of those articles and i knew it to be a half-truth. Admittedly though i read it pretty frequently. Just troubling how often people say 'you can't believe everything on the internet' out of one side of their mouth and then quote an article linking a poorly documented single study as a 'truth' out of the other.

Still funny as hell site though.

I've spent some time on TVTropes, but Cracked is like crack. So many awesome articles. You can always find another one to jump to, too. Sometimes, I wonder how true some of the articles are.

Is this stuff true? Or do they make it up to be random and funny?
I'm almost positive their stories are true. The way they're written makes it appear they do a lot of research for their articles. With that said, I hate you, OP. The only way I could be madder is if you had another option of Imgur. Every time someone links me to any of those three sites I don't leave for at least three hours. I also hate everyone who has posted a link that I now have an open tab for. :(

Cracked easy for me. Maybe there's something wrong with me but I got bored of TV tropes in about a minute.

I like 'em both, actually. What I don't like is being sucked into articles and not being able to get back...

Don't we all. Be sure to avoid the end of the articles, and the text usually tells you when it's coming.

Glad to hear it. The thread's doing far better than I expected, and now I have another instrument of compulsion to play around with.

All I need now is Dr. Insano's swirly goggles, and I'll be set.

Cracked, by a huge margin. I love their writing styles, their topics, their graphics department, and even the novels written by the staff editors.

TVtropes is just stupid, and a complete mess. Whoever designed that site is in dire need of a basic design course.
