Poll: Crysis 2: Console Gaming Evolved

one question is this coming out on console? or not?

It's coming out on all "major" consoles, i.e. PC, Xbox360 and PS3.

OT: I'm dissapointed, I enjoyed the ability to switch between the four at my will, it added a certain tactical dimension to the gameplay.

I'm starting to feel more and more that "dumbing down" is the agenda of 2010's developers, what with Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction (by the looks of it) etc.

Not saying it's because of console players, but there seem to be a certain lack of PC exclusives these days, and with a console controllers limited buttons, you have remove stuff.

umm will the xbox be able to handle it or will the just downgrade the GFX like ff13 (i have a ps3 to clear things up)

nobody really knows for sure, but because most xbox games are locked at, say, 500-720p and the onboard processor/graphics card are pretty dated, I can't imagine it'd be as good as the PC version. There's just no getting around that.

For a game being touted with the best graphics on consoles, those screens sure do look bad. Even taking into account the obvious compression and 'it will look better in motion', they are pretty terrible. Lets hope the gameplay is better this time around.

So, Crytek takes the advice of mentally challenged console gamers and decides to dumb it down from an already simple 4-power system into a casualized console version? Or is this streamlining? You decide.

Dumbing down. I loved the little wheel menu thing in Crysis one, what was wrong with it?

Too fast for consoles. Same reason why they dumbed down Dragon Age on consoles.

sigh.... another game which was originally for the pc which we will most likly end up with a crappy console port with slightly better graphics as an after thought =/ seems like its only the russian / ukrainian developers these days that care about the pc community.

From what I hear there will be another suit mode in addition to PWR and STLTH called Tactical (probably TAC for short) which will be something along the lines of Detective mode from Arkham Asylum, you will be able to identify enemy weapons, see the cause of death on corpses, and it probably will include a form of night vision (thats last one is just my speculation).

I do like the sound of having all the powers merged together but I do think it will take a little bit of getting used to.

They're just trying to earn enough scratch from PC games to be able to afford console SDKs and licensing.

suppose your right, s.t.a.l.k.e.r developers are making a dumbed down s.t.a.l.k.e.r for the console =/ long gone are the good old days
