for me i think it is archaic and should be a dead form of writing but what do others think?

It's a lot smoother to write things with, but it is getting archaic. The only time I ever use it now is in my signatures, and even then half the time I'll either scribble something there or draw a picture of a penguin.

I don't care for it, but I'm fluent enough for signatures and stuff. Just in case.

I have crap handwriting, so I can only do a messy form of joined up writing. Cursive is just way, way out of my league anyway. Plus I can rarely read it.

I use it all the time when I'm taking notes. It's much faster than printing, and it's more fun, too.
For me, anyway.
It does annoy me when people cannot read it, though.

Well, that's how I learned how to write, and I don't even know how to write else. And my handwriting is horrible. I wonder what typologists have to say about my personality...

I always write in cursive, unless someone else is reading it, because no one can read my handwriting. I simply find cursive to write much more quickly and smoothly (at least with a nice pen) and can take many more notes without my hand gettin' all crampy.

I can't stand it for a variety of reasons:

1) Most people are so out of practice using it for any reason other than to sign their own name that it's illegible when they write it.

2) My handwriting's bad enough---throw cursive into it and nobody can read MY writing. I tend to write in "big capital letters" and "small capital letters" because it's the most readable form of handwriting (consider comic books).

3) Beyond that, I'd rather people buy a printer then type up their correspondence in Word and learn how to use spellcheck.

I always use cursive. Damn, Escapists, you make it sound like writing is a chore! Writing is an art!

I only use it for signatures, and it should stay that way for everyone. But as long as it's legible, it's all right with me.

I don't use it anymore. I used to get in trouble for using it instead of 'joined up writing' when I moved to England so I stopped using either.

I don't see how people can write without joining-up their letters, my "f"s and "s"s can take on absurdly elaborate forms when I write; even though the result is virtually illegible

My handwriting is incredibly neat...which is scary.

I had to use joined up writing until I was 12.

it looked like the dogs bollocks, but it just seems ridiculous to me now.

When I have a teacher I don't like, I'll alternate words/sentences in print and cursive.

I hate cursive
There's absolutely no point in it, except for giving elementary school teachers another thing to make themselves feel better about when they give a kid an F for writing in print.
Most of the time, it's illegible.
