I know this isnt that hot news, but it agrovates me more than the differences in releases between japan and europe on final fantasy XIII, this is the fact that rockstars new add-ons to GTA4 is only on 360.
These add-ons will increase the the game lenght in about one third of the main game, and this should be against some sort of rule.

Couldn't care, I don't do the whole "paying extra for DLC" thing.

Well, given that Microsoft paid $50 million for the right to have it released only on the 360, I'd say that you are not of the chosen people. See here: http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/06/take_two_gets_5.html Sony doesn't care about you like Microsoft does about me. [/sarcasm]
And they obviously don't care about PC gamers (not that I pretend to understand that part...)

Not that I care. I don't like GTAIV, so this is not essential DLC for me.

DLC is the new exclusives, while I agree that it sucks for ps3 users in this case, MS or Sony getting exclusive DLC is much better overall then last generations of getting games exclusive altogether.

it just happens that MS is better at getting exclusive DLC then sony is

MS aren't better per say, they just paid $50 million for it while sony couldn't care.

You didn't spell "resent" right...

But yeah, there's no rules against this sorta thing, just means that Sony couldn't come to an agreement with Rockstar. Big suprise: money was likely involved.

How can you honestly resent them when Microsoft so much money to make it exclusive? It would be insane for them not to have done this. And hey, maybe it'll just mean there will be more and better DLC than in the alternate universe where Microsoft didn't make the offer. Economics, kids. Why do you think Microsoft, despite all of the notorious bugs and problems their OS's suffer, continues to be wildly successful? They're smart and know how to solve problems with a lot of money.

Oh, and OP? Jesus invented spell check for a reason. Oh, and he invented your eyes to read your posts first. C'mon.

I actually had to look recent up to see if there was a definition or use that I wasn't aware of. It took a couple minutes, but I finally figured out what the OP meant. I feel a bit slow now.

Yeah, it sucks that non-360 owners are getting the shaft on the DLC, even from the point of view of a 360 owner. I would rather buy a complete game, as has already been stated. As if I wasn't already inclined to pass on the next GTA installment, they start pulling this garbage.

OK, the spelling is seriously bothering me, and I'm not a spelling nazi.

Ooh one of the brilliant things about being a PC user :D I give it two months before the DLC hits PirateBay etc.

We all knew it before the systems launched: One gets the dlc and the other one a new movie player ;)

He has a damn good point, why should we pay extra? Is it too much to ask for a full game?
In what way was GTAIV not a full game? The only other recent (proper use of the word) game besides Mass Effect that took me so long to beat.

It bugs me a little but I don't resent them for it. Microsoft were stupid enough to pay $50million for it so I can't blame Rockstar. Chances are, even if I did have my 360 copy, I wouldn't download it anyways.
Fallout 3 is one that annoys me more, because I wanted to trade in my 360 version for a PS3 version.... now I'm left secretly hoping that Bethesda releases a GOTY edition with all the DLC included.

It sucks that the add-on wont be avaible for the PS3 but it's not like lengthening the game will make it any better.

No, and that's what you got with GTA IV.

It would be too much to ask however, to hold back the release GTA IV until February 2009, when the 360 exclusive Lost and the Damned had been finished, just for the sake of releasing the "full game".

Imagine how much 360 owners would complain about not getting GTA IV for another 10 months after the PS3 release, because they had to wait for the "full game" to be made.

There would have been even more of a shitstorm if the PS3 version was also delayed by 10 months because they had to wait for the 360 exclusive "full game" to be released.

I don't care, I actually have no interest in GTA4. GTA1 was funky back in those days, but the newer games don't appeal to me.

Yeah, like should all exclusive console games?
Really, God of War III, inFamous and Killzone 2 are like, full games, they're exclusivity should be against some sort of rule.

The exclusive DLC for GTA IV was announced long before the game released... You've had plenty of time to make the necessary arrangements required if it was that big of a deal to you. If you could afford a PS3, I see no reason that you couldn't afford a 360 as well, especially with the most recent price drop.

the DLC for gta is more like an expansion pack. its a whole new (albeit small) game with new multiplayer and whole new characters and a cool looking story its not just a map pack or EA taking bits out a game to make you buy it later *cough skate 2*
