So, uh...how many of you bought Damned?
If you haven't, you should - although I'd probably suggest doing it after it's released, 'cause the pre-access, while not actually incredibly buggy, is a bit confusing. I at least hope they'll add tutorials later.
So...what is Damned? It's a little survival horror game. If you're playing as the humans. If you're not, it's a puzzle game where the prize for solving the puzzle is killing everyone.
Playing as the humans is sufficiently creepy, I suppose, but playing as EL MONSTRO is where it's at.
Le Monstrenaire has two modes (at least the monster I got to play as) - Ghost and Physical. In Ghost mode, you can go through doors, but you can't see humans - I'm serious. Unless you're in your physical form humans are invisible. Mneh. While you're in your ghost form, however, you can set traps - which, thanks to the lack of tutorial, I'm not too sure what they do. I'm pretty sure they exist to make a loud noise that lets you know where the humans are, but there are a metric fuckton of traps everywhere so a clock trap in one room that the humans passed through is a clock trap in an abandoned, lonely room, if you understand. If you're lucky enough (and the humans are dumb enough to leave the doors open so you can follow their trail) you can murder them. Why? I dunno'. Nothing really happens besides they fall over. A neat little thing is, though, their flashlight, if it was on, keeps being on after they die, making a cool effect in a dark room.
So...rant over. What do you think of the concept? What do you think the final product will be like?
Also, points off if you mention Campfire.
