Just strikes me as the Game Overthinker, but less literate or interesting.

I think he's good. Voice isn't great, I'll admit but he has a rational opinion that still manages to get heard on the web which is some achievement. He's a good example of the kind of gamers we need to evolve into to for our pastime to be taken seriously. Dick jokes have their place but they won't get the medium serious recognition.
Annoying voice that I hope is due to post processing effects, lack of new insight and perspective not broad enough. A little too one sided but fairly well researched and could be educational to a lot of people.
The dream about creating roles for "professional" writers is naive and perpetuates the myth that game developers cannot be good writers themselves. About the only people who have a chance of writing well for games are people who understand the medium well and ideally can test out their ideas in prototypes. In other words, it's probably easier to teach a game developer creative writing than to teach a writer, and what sort of writer anyway, how to make a game.

Yup, I've been subscribed to his channel for quite a while now. His newest video went up a couple of days ago.
I dunno, he makes reasonable points and I like the art style. The voice is a bit annoying but that's not a massive issue really.

He has generally good views and outlooks that, like game overthinker, 90% of it I agree with and I've already thought of and rage about in my spare time, but not in a video, and not on the internet, and it's not too important to me if someone else wants to make videos about it. I don't need fame for opinions that countless silent others hold.
I just wish more people weren't so easily swayed and actually questioned what people state as fact or correct. And I also wish people would think of these things themselves. I'm sure most of us already do, but not everyone says "Hey, you know, maybe this woman should be wearing a little more clothing," or "Hey, why is this minority represented in this way?" or "Hey, I wonder why the Wii has such a large marketshare? Maybe games should be targeted for different audiences..." or whatever.
Game overthinker I never gave a fuck about but my girlfriend thinks it's some kind of genius shit, and it's like, well, yeah, it is, just the type of people that will find it and watch it are generally people who already agree with him or feel that way. I doubt it will really sway many people. But hey, if it sways SOMEONE and makes SOMEONE change and be better, then I think it's done its job.
Either way, Daniel Floyd I find to be a good guy, I especially liked his video about tangential learning, because it was something I was trying to put into words at some point and found myself unable to explain in such the elegant way he has. This is similar with all of the game overthinker videos, except I guess I don't praise Japan enough. I especially liked his Nostalgia video, though.
