Poll: Dead Space

I don't know about the rest of you. but I'm really excited about this game. A mix of sci-fi, horror, action, and survival. From the gameplay so far, that has actually come to pass, unlike so many other games in the horror genre.

So what about all of you? I'd like to hear your thought on a little game called Dead Space.

Three words made me want the game
ZOMBIES IN SPACE!!!

but aside from that the game looked cool and i like that all the weapons are tools used for mining and that you have strategic dismemberment (those two words go so good together)

Doom 3 + Resident Evil 4 = Dead Space..whether or not you decide thats a good thing is up to you. I'm not even lying either, I've played it for 4 hrs. It's alright, but nothing new.

That all sounds great to me and is what I wanted out of it. So thanks, it confirms that for me it will most likely kick some major ass.

Mostly because i looooove Sci-Fi and Space Ships in any way.
Even if Dead Space was about Hero Engineer Isaac Clarke running around a un-zombified Ship repairing Elevators, i would probably buy the Game someday.

Also the graphics look really nice, and the launch trailer was kinda great ^^.

Going to play it alongside Far Cry 2 and PGR 4, so i have something for every mood...or something

It looks pretty awesome and my girlfriend wants me to buy it so she can watch as I defecate myself in a form of primal terror as I play it. That being said i wont rush to buy it.

Actually i'd play that, if they made the gameplay interesting. Make you solve various puzzles for example to fix certain systems- gonna operate on that control box? better deactivate that power conduit first or ur fried boy.

God i'm glad i am not the only one who would play such a game.

I just took that as an example how i am interested in ANY Game with Spaceships as long as there is a hint of quality to it, but now the whole thing begins to sound interesting ^^

I'm about 9 hours in and it is a quality game. And the analogy of Doom 3 + RE4 is very correct. I absolutly love the scenes when you are outside the ship and walking on the hull, the dead silence is great. Also the creature effects are very good. But this game is definately for those who enjoy horror... in space. So if you are a horror fan, it is a must own. If you are not, it is a rent.
