Please elect your metal band.
AC/DC aren't metal.Ken Korda said:You know, I heard the Young brothers were born in Scotland before they went to Australia and Brian Johnson is form Tyneside. Does that mean we can have AC/DC?....please

I love how you say american metal has all the pioneers then you just list a series of bands which came after all of the European bands. also...there are other types of metal than thrash.jdnoth said:European metal sucks. 2. Slayer has four good albums.
3. European Metal > American Metal...
Minus Death, Iced Earth, Nile, and the other goodies.
While I won't pretend to understand OP's train of thought, could it be that he is interested in seeing which of the "old classics" has the more popularity in Europe?Labyrinth said:What about other Metalheads? I'm Australia based yet I adore many European metal bands. By the way, your list it heinously slim. While it would be impossible to encompass all of the genre at ANY time, you've missed a lot of more recent and very popular metal bands. Opeth is a prime example, as is Meshuggah. This is a poorly constructed and very slanted thread/poll.
This is wrong.asinann said:You listed 5 bands.
Of the 5 most still perform, but only one has released anything new in the last decade, and it was crap.
Those bands were all great in the 70's and early 80's, and without them metal wouldn't be where it is today.
Now most of those bands will still sell out their shows, but instead of joins being passed around and mosh pits forming, it's Ben Gay and home in time for ER.
Neither of those are metal.
