No, I love the American bands I chose. The reason I say "Europe only" is because the sound came from their country and homeland, hence I want to know primarily their opinion.
This can be disputed. Usually, Deep Purple's "Machine Head" is cited as the main record that inspired and influenced the Heavy Metal genre, but Blue Cheer is usually thought of as the ones that made the first Heavy Metal record.

I think Im to young to really be in this thread. All those are older rock groups, all also being from only England. Not saying I dislike their music, just saying that it isnt what I listen to in my spare time. More like "yeah I like playing this song in guitar hero" etc. There are really many newer and great bands in Europe. But most bands dont make this kind of music obviously (since theyre younger), and have more music that you cant categorise as pure metal or rock etc.

Yes I am from Europe.

I believe this thread should be renamed Dear Britain, given that the options are all godfathers of British metal (RIP)

European metal sucks. American metal has all the pioneers. Metallica, Pantera, Machine Head etc etc. There hasn't been any good European thrash since the early 90's.

From the EU btw
America has the pioneers?
FYI british new wave metal came before American metal. As much as I love Pantera and Metallica they were not around in the beginining. Bands like Black Sabbath and Led zepplin were around in the '70s and pioneered the metal act. Hell Pantera didn't even exist as a thrash band until the 90's, they were hardly pioneers.

Also, you specificially list Europian (not british) metal and Kreator doesn't get a mention *sad face*

This thread could have been called "Dear England", or even "Dear London & Birmingham".

It's hard for me to choose, I like all those bands...

Dear Europe,

Please make more songs like "The Final Countdown". Songs like that rocked, and they still affect our modern-day pop culture.

You know, I heard the Young brothers were born in Scotland before they went to Australia and Brian Johnson is form Tyneside. Does that mean we can have AC/DC?....please
They're Rock, not Metal.
I may not know much about metal, but I can assure you that metal is a subgenre of rock.
Plus, it's impossible to classify any performer as "rock". Think about how BROAD that genre is. If you'd said Hard Rock, that would have been more accurate.
