Poll: Dedicated servers coming to an end, a good thing?

I know this hard. You see this as another step in the inevitable demise of PC gaming. Just remember its not anything you did. Except maybe the pirates, those people suck. Consumer culture simply prizes conformity and the company specific over the universally compatible and diversity. I know it feels like you're losing this round, but its really just the way of things, accept it gracefully.

I don't plan to give up or accept it gracefully. Hell, I'm a part-time Linux user. I don't mind complexity. In fact, I thrive on complexity - it sets me apart from those assholes that think they can just jump into the computing arena and usurp my own position by just wasting their lives on bloody Facebook!

But this isn't an argument for complexity, it's an argument for simplicity vs. customisation - to a certain degree. Dedicated servers aren't just for customisation. Look at the online system in borderlands... I would kill for some dedicated - non-host - servers! KILL!
