I knew his name(maybe not off the top of my head, but still knew it), I just didn't know what he was from. I don't really care what a derailed thread evolves into as long as it is funny. I do however think we should limit this forum to only a few derailed threads per week. It does get grating when you're trying to have a good discussion and suddenly the thread veers off in a direction that some people seem dedicated to keep it in. That said, I do like a good derailed thread.
