Hey guys, I have always wondered what the Deus Ex games were like, having never played them. Now it seems that by some stroke of luck, I can just barely scrape into the time limit for the £3 offer for both Deus Ex games on Steam! (Thats 3.00pm pacific) So, could you guys fill me in on perhaps the pro's and cons of the game and maybe put your own price tag on both of them?

You buy them now!

Super, mega awesome RPG is the first one. Pure genius and intelligent storyline. I don't play games on PC much, but even I would get it if it was £3.

Second one while not as good a storyline in my opinion, still better than a lot of drivel that is being produced. Again, buy it, 'cause I thought my £6 copy was a bargain.

They should probably release it for free but yeah go for it. You might not take to it but if you do it's better than Mcdonalds or whatever.

21-0 sounds pretty unanimous to me. I'll get it then!
Be sure to play it in OpenGL mode, I had quite a hard time getting Deus Ex to work, awesome game that it is though. Are you using Vista?

The results of this poll sure make me smile. I'm very anxious to start playing it again later this evening. Haven't played it since it first came out.

If you're even the slightest bit interested in the game and you still can't decide whether to get it for a lousy £3, you deserve to be punched in the dick.

Get it. It's a brilliant game, and even if you end up not liking it, it will only have cost you £3. There's no excuse not to buy it, unless of course you already have it (like me! :p )

I snagged it and played for around an hour, but nostalgia is a *****. What was the best game 10 years ago, it now feels clunky and stiff. There are a lot of little thing you take for granted now in FPSs that didn't exist then, like iron sites;) The story is not anything special anymore and the voice over was quite atrocious, hehe. Awesome theme sound though.
You played for an hour, your in no place to comment on the story. As for your other coplaints. No, just no.

I have the original Deus Ex on disc under my bed and I still downloaded it on steam - I figure £1.99 was a fair price to pay for not having to go through the hassle of digging the game out and putting it in the CD-Drive whenever I wanted to play it.

Now if only System Shock 2 was on Steam, my life would be complete...

Incorrect.

As for the OP, I just finished another replay and it stands up just as well today as it did upon release. Its still the most important game ever released insofar as showing the potential of the gaming medium and its a must play.

The sequal not so much.

I already picked it up for like $2.49. I had like 3 dollars on a prepaid credit card left and seemed like the best choice.
