Well, when I heard that the new TMNT movie was a Box Office success [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/136733-Friday-Box-Office-Ninja-Turtles-Defeat-Marvels-Guardians], the first thing I asked myself was: who did watch it and who didn't? But then, I wanted to know more about why did they watched it.

What about you? Do you want to know who payed to watch this movie? The kids? The fans? The haters?

Sorry, noob mistake. It seems like the poll doesn't show the apostrophes and anything after it; and I can't change it. So here are the full options:

1. Yes! I knew it was going to be awesome! (haters gonna hate)
2. Yes, I wanted to see why it's so hated.
3. Yes, I had to acompany someone / take the kids to watch it, and I don't understand why they liked it.
4. Yes, and it's as horrible (if not worst) than I expected. F*ck you Michael Bay!
5. No, but I plan to watch it later.
6. No, I don't care about ninjas or turtles.
7. No, it seems like it's a bad movie (and the critics support me)
8. No! I won't give them my money to support this abomination. F*ck you Michael Bay!

Check the bottom one. The poll slaughtered the options.

I'm not giving the Hollywood Hype Machine any money. The amount of indifferent parents (or the ones that spoil their kids just to shut them up) taking the little tykes to the movies always gets sequels to these crapfests greenlit within the opening week, but at least my money is staying with me. I've got the 2 good old Turtle movies on a $10 DVD pack anyway.

I would say stay away from any Hollywood adaptation, anyhow. These days, they're usually committee created, focus group tested drivel manufactured to bring in the greatest common denominator.

Put it this way, I'm planning to see Guardians of the Galaxy again to put my 2 bucks towards a good movie. (also because Guardians is awesome and I need to spend some of my Movie Membership reward points).

I went with friends since they wanted to see it, and we all are TMNT fans of varying degrees. While it was pretty much as I expected, it wasn't as unwatchable as I thought it would be ( as in I can't stand it anymore and I'm walking out). There were parts that were fairly entertaining, and I would say it is an average movie. It did provide us with a lot to talk about afterwards, which was basically pointing out stuff we didn't like or those that didn't make any sense. I think going in with lowered expectations helped us in not being too...vocal...in our displeasure of it.

I'd probably watch it on DVD or Netflicks but I can't bring myself to pay cinema prices to see something I hold little or no interest in.

I always found the idea of mutants with medieval Japanese weaponry, self-styled as "Ninjas" (i.e. assassins) never actually killing anyone to be quite absurd.

So I saw Guardians of the Galaxy... twice.

My guess is kids, since the 'humour' I see from Bays films seem strictly for that.

Not even going to bother with the cinemas anymore. Not only is it bloody expensive but it all looks like the same tripe over and over. And until I see a trailer or something of a film that really grabs me, the entire thing can collapse for all I care.

Hmm, I thought the bottom one said 'No! I won' as in 'I won by not subjecting myself to this vommit'.

Anyway, no I didn't watch it, and I never will. Michael Bay was always shit, but after Transformers 2 I'm not touching a fucking thing he's had his slimey mitts on ever again. Yes, I know he didn't technically direct it, but his fingerprints are all over it. And the guy who did direct it also made Wrath of the Titans; a movie somehow worse than the Clash of the Titans remake.

I saw it... Meh

For the record, I haven't been really into TMNT at all so no expectations about comparing to the source material

I really don't think it's as bad as people say; it's mediocre at worst and meh at best

Trust me, I've seen far, FAR worse

Yes. It's not just awful, it's nonsensical. And I don't mean the mutant ninja turtle thing, I'm talking about gaps in the movie's own logical terms.

No, and I won't actually watch it until it hits Netflix, most likely, and I'll probably be drunk since I know I hate Michael Bay movies.

I've managed to watch none of the Transformers films so far in theaters, and now I will happily continue this tradition with these new disappointments.

I find it weird how people condemn such movies after having gone seen them...like....you thought it might be good? I find it hard enough to drag my ass to the cinema for a GOOD movie..let al one one we all knew was going to be terrible

I've been menaing to watch that but I just cannot drum up the motivation....I think I'll wait for Blu-ray and watch it while drunk

I watched for free as part of my job (fuck you Bay) and I thought it was simply mediocre. Not horrible, not great. Just.. meh. A couple funny parts but very, very simplistic and falls into the same "focus on the humans!" pittrap that Transformers did/does. The Turtles also look kind of ugly and every plot point is horribly convenient when they need to find something or beat a bad guy.

Well, I didn't see the full outline of the options, so whoops, wrong vote.

"Yes, and it" was very entertaining. Sure, there are faults in logic, kinda obvious plot holes, but this isn't the kind of movie where that's very important. The key point here, the turtles themselves, were at least well done and entertaining. While not dead ringers to my 80's cartoon childhood turtles, they manage to retain their identities if a bit modernized for better or for worse. (Mikey is the one i'm thinking about the most part. He kinda suffers the most but also fits the more actual teenage attitude they have here. But he still have funny, silly moments.)

It's not a great movie by a stretch, but it's not bad either. It's kinda just dumb fun and it knows it.

I went to see it because I go to the theatre about once or twice a month at least and I'd already seen everything else.

Partly because I was curious about the movie and partly because I don't suffer the same mass delusion that everyone else seems to have and understand that even if I steadfastly refuse to watch a Michael Bay movie...he didn't direct the fucking thing.

Anyway.

It's not terrible and I didn't hate it, but I've probably had more fun deconstructing the manner in which the movie was put together than I had actually watching it. Given another year or so I'll probably forget that I even saw it.
