With the Hd Collection being announced i think without a doubt that there will be some struggle between those two titles.
One being the drastically changed DmC from NT
The other being the 3(actually 4 games since the Lucia disc was pretty much a seperate disc) most awesome games to ever grace the Hack'n'Slash genre stuffed in one collection along with bonus content.
My question to you folks is which one would you buy, state your reasons in the posts.

As to my oppinion,i would buy the Collection since it is 3(4)games for pretty much a lower price than a newly released game.
Another reason is how NT treated the franchise and it's fans.
They said that if dante were to go into a bar outside of tokio he would be laughed out.
Insult of the source material pretty much?
Along with that they also said ''**** these fans , they'll buy the game anyway'' despite the serious backlash of the character design.
With the E3 trailer the brought back his white hair in the most provocative manner ever.
As a DT.
For me there are more problems than just the hair.
Hideki Kamiya(pretty much the creator of the DMC franchise) has set a rule when he created Dante.
He is too cool to smoke.Yet what do i see when i glance upon the DmC trailers.....
There are also many doubts i have about the gameplay...
First of the engine theyre using Maximum FPS is 30...
A DMC without its fluid 60 FPS is a unicorn without its horn...
Second the Devil Trigger,It slows down time, launches enemies into the air with zero G,and buffs Dante with speed and strength.I can only see how it will be abused in every way possible.
Dt in the previous DMCs only served to be a buff in speed and strength along with health regeneration(which was pretty much scapegoat to endure a few more hits in DMD)and not to make you overpowered.
Third in-game battle cinematics and other things that drag down the pace.I dont want slo-mo closeups when i finish an enemy or enter DT state,it breaks the games flow and drags down the already slow pace.
Last the gameplay of Dante.Even from looks i can see that he is extremely dumbed down.If you look at DMC3 he had a large amount of freedom,he could cancel out of every attack with another attack,a jump,a dodge, you name it he does it.You had to make use of jump cancelling and weapon switch to make stylish combos, but in DmC all ive seen was ''Generic aerial sword combo->Nero's snatch clone-> generic aerial sword combo'' and some shooting inbetween.
I will rent DmC,but for the love of god i will not buy it, because i refuse to support capcoms move on their franchise.

Looks like this turned out to be more of a rant about DmC
but i had to reason my decision to not look like some random kiddy saying''DmC SUCKS0RZ!!11!1!!''

Anyway,your turn

Probably DmC: Devil May Cry. I've already played the others, and Ninja Theory are known for crafting games with well written stories and characters. I'll give them a shot.

Well, the franchise is more known for its gameplay as the plot always had some issues or unanswered questions or simply continuity issues.
To me DmC is simply cash milkin filler(which probably fails) since it has no relation to the actual DMC universe and simply using familiar names and even the title to attract some sales

same with pyramid head being in every silent hill when he is actually out of place

obvious sign of milking the franchise

Well at this point i may end up buying the 2 anyway due to the fact that theres only 2, maybe 3, other games coming out next year that even remotely interests me. And theyre all Capcom games, which i find a little bit unsettling.

I will get both! The only DMC I've ever had is 4 which I enjoyed a lot, so I want to play the rest of the series too, and having them together in an HD collection is perfect for me. But I also intend to get the new one because I really like the direction they are going with in it. At first I was apprehensive like everyone else when I saw Dante's redesign. But after a while I came to accept it, and to be honest he doesn't really look that much different from plenty of other characters in the series anyway. Think Vergil and Nero. I actually really liked Nero's design and the way he played too, more than playing as Dante even. And although I'm still a bit worried about the new game only being in 30fps so far the narrative direction looks excellent. The world and setting that Ninja Theory have created looks really interesting. I also really enjoyed Enslaved, so I have faith in the studio to make a good game. Also I don't really have a problem with them re-inventing Dante since the game is supposed to be a reboot of the series. This Dante isn't the same one as before.

well i loved 1&2 (i only resently beat the first game) and have always wanted to play more of 3 so for me it will be buying DMC 3 with HD remakes of 1&2 attached. i wont be buying the new one because i dont want to support what they have done with the game in general and in fact i dont think ninja theory makes good games.
