Okay, so after the general consensus that Duke Nukem Forever is one massive 12-year in the making disappointment, many threads have appeared on this site, and on one of these threads, me and another user of the Escapist got into a small debate about what was a good replacement.
After passing through several other options, we settled on a rather good replacement.
Quake 4!
Seriously, this game has everything people seem to want from Duke Nukem Forever
1)No two-weapon limit - You get nine weapon slots. Huzzah
2) Campness - It's a shameless story about space marines invading the hoogey-bloogey aliens of the Gamma Delta system. And they all wear power armour and are bad-asses.
3) Over the Top action - It's a invasion of a Alien planet, by Space Marines!
4) Cool but Impractical weapons - You get a lighting gun! And a gun which fires homing needles!
5) Camp Dialouge and Characters - They're all generic characters, saying generic lines, all in a tounge-in-cheek-manner. Awesome, right?
6) Coolness for the hell of it - The player character get's turned into a mega-cyborg!
7) Decent Graphic - Okay, so the game doesn't have amazing graphics, but they ain't bad for a game which came out in six years ago
8) It's really cheap Only a fiver from Amazon! Sign me up.
So what do you think Escapist? Did we come to a good decision?
[small]Please not that this was not a paid commercial by Raven Software the games developer, or Activision the games publisher.[/small]
