Most likely not, as long as the individual is smart enough to tell the difference between reality and fantasy.
If a kid is already messed up enough to the point he cannot distinguish between a videogame and reality, I'm pretty sure the game did not have any influence in his behavior. It's true, if you make a young child play nothing but violent videogames, he will be traumatized, but most of it will be due to the social withdrawal; it'd have the same effect to he did nothing but read Stephen King and Lovecraft novels.
Here's the main fact; children who commit violent incidents are normally not into killing because of the videogame, but they are into the videogame because of the killing. This attitude develops from abuse and lack of nurturing.

Video games MAY be a factor, but there are hundreds, maybe thousands of other things that can cause violent behavior. The home you grew up in, how your parents raised you, how your friends treated you, what you were exposed to as a minor, how your brain functions, these are just some I can think of off the top of my head.

Not only has anyone yet to actually connect violent games directly with violent acts (Namely, games literally get you to kill people in real life.), but they have it backwards. Violent games are theraputic entertainment because we DON'T really want to strangle our boss. We recognize that as wrong, and so we strangle a video game character and PRETEND it's the boss.

It may help lead to violence in some people, but these people should have never been playing violent videogames in the first place. In most people they don't cause violence. Maybe someone might act more aggressively once, but when they see the real life consiquences I doubt they will continue to act violent.
For the most part I'd say not, but there are always some people who can act violent because of exposure to anything, not just video games.

Of course! When I am done playing my favorite game I have an overwhelming urge to throw banana peels out of my car, throw turtle shells at other drivers, and put mushrooms in my engine to make my car go faster(or eat them. I haven't figured out how the mushrooms are suppose to work)!

If they're caught in a metaphorical landslide, there might be no escape from reality. They need to open their eyes, look up to the sky and see that there are no pixels there. Some poor boy is easy come, easy go when it comes to grasping existence. It's a common problem, with lapsing-into-fantasy rates a little high, sometimes a little low.
