I started noticing something odd about myself a few months ago; I seem to behave differently on the forums here at The Escapist. I become a bit more tolerant and intolerant of specific subjects and I don't engage much in completely random discussions. I also think a bit more before posting stuff, as apposed to my thought process of posting whatever comes to my mind that I use on a majority of other forums.

THE DISCUSSION: When on different forums, do you behave or act differently according to each forum?

Yes, I'm much nicer on my avatar design forum. And on the CoS Forum.

Probably cause I have close friends on both sites.

And more in common. We don't fight about Harry Potter...well not anymore.

I tend to behave differently on different threads, nevermind forums.

My posting etiquette really depends on my mood. I can be really snide, passive aggressive and outright mean. Then, other times, I try to be helpful and nice. Sometimes I fail though and just come across as a bit of an idiot.

These are the only forums I use regularly so maybe I would be different somewhere else.

You are naturally more random and hilarious in the forum games than you are in off topic. I try to be fun here but also realize this place is for discussion.

Yeah people change how they post in different forums here because different people 'live' in these subforums.

I tend to put a lot more thought into my posts on PWOT because the mods and community have no qualms about letting you know if you're being an idiot on those forums. Roughly 96% of the threads posted here on a daily basis would be met with scathing insults and locks due to shitty spelling/grammar, not using the search-bar or just plain ol' fuckwaddery on the OP's part.

Pretty much the same everywhere, although ocassionally I'll have a smaller/ruder response than is allowed on these ones. Or a completely off-topic reply.

Generally: hell no. In fact, the only board I hold back on is this one, and frankly, I don't think that needs explaining.

No, not really. I act the same on the Daft Club and Aliens:Colonial Marines forum. Although to be fair, I'm more of a lurker but my behavior is the same.

Sub-forum wise, I'm more casual on Forum Games and the PubClub forum. Only because they're more laid-back

The only difference is that I will argue on a forum but I tend not to bother in real life as at least with a forum the argument stays on here and doesn't affect anything else in life. I try to stay on topic so if the topic is asking me to give my opinion I will or if it just asking for randomness I will give randomness.

I tend to stick to one forum at a time, so there's nothing really to compare my behaviour here to. I mean, I could compare it to how I used to act when I was on other forums, but that wouldn't be accurate, because that was a different iteration of me.

Well, the other forum I frequent only has about 10-15 active members left, so yeah, it's a lot different there.
