I used to, but then I got braces. That makes it impossible, and I never restarted when they came off.

I do bite my fingernails, although I'm curbing the habit. It's mainly just because I need something to chew on, so instead, I've made a habit of buying Costco packs of gum.

I only bite off pieces of nail or skin that hang loose and are a risk of tearing off further when I don't have scissors nearby. Otherwise, no.

WOAH WOAH WOAH. PEOPLE BITE THEIR TOENAILS? O_O

I bite my nails, the skin around my nails, pencils, pens, and generally nibble on whatever I can find
Pretty much this.

Now I have an infection in my finger. (I bite my cuticles)
I really need to stop biting my nails...

I do bite my fingernails and I really wish i could stop doing it because for some reason I am not aware of it fucking hurts...Maybe I've just done it too much

But I've never done it with toenails cause I'm not that flexible

I bite my finger nails simply because its easier than cutting, nothing to do with habit or when I'm nervous, just whe they get long it saves using scissors, plus I can for the life of my use scissors with my left hand so biting ends up looking neater on my right hand anyways...

I did when I was younger. If you want to stop, my advice is that you clip your nails at least once a week. It's rather difficult to bite nails that aren't there.

I did it when I was in grade school, but as soon as I got to secondary school, I stopped doing it (which had nothing to do with actually being in the secondary school, it was just coincidental).

That's exactly what happened for me. I have yet to get mine taken off, but I don't see it being a problem afterward.

I used to chew on my shirt collar when I was younger. It's habitual, you might have a touch of OCD like I do. But I'm not a shrink, so don't view that as a diagnosis.
As I said, accidentally.

I bite my nails. Even my toenails. They are too tough for nailclippers, if I don't they'll just keep growing.

I've had to cut back, though. I need to keep the nails on my right hand long for guitar.
They stare at me from the back of my hand. Taunting me.

I'm really bad for nail biting. I don't just keep them short I tear away strips of nail all the way to the cuticle. Then I tear away at the cuticle untill it bleeds. Then when my nail is far enough back I start biting away at the skin UNDER the nail, which is incredibly painful and again they bleed but I just can't stop.

On the subject of toenails, I used to bite them too when I was younger and had the flexibility.

I think it all stems from the fact that my mum used to cut my nails when I was a toddler and I used to freak out about it, certain she was going to slip and cut me, so I started biting them to ensure they stayed short, after that it's just become a game of "fuck up your nails as much as you can"

Well played, good sir. Well played.

OT: No, I don't bite my nails, but I tend to rip them with my fingers.

[small]P.S. I just had a rice cracker with french brie. It was delicious.[/small]
