Poll: Do you Cheat?

I usually play a game for the story. I want to complete the single player campaign purely to know the story behind the game. If I can't play a game on easy (or simply if it's too hard on normal/hard) I will usually cheat my way through. If I want a challenge I'll get it somewhere else.

I pretty much only do in GTA, that game is just made for cheats, but not in the story

This. I remember the gold ol San Andreas days, flying cars were the best! I love the way the wheels switched potion as the car took off.

I'll generally cheat for fun, or sometimes if I get all paranoid about failing in the game I'll use something like Save States (in the case of ROMS, I'm so save state happy with emulators...).

I love running around crazy powerful and invincible and flick people away as they try wildly to kill me with tanks and rifles and airstrikes.

My brother does not understand the use of cheats at all though, he just plays a game to beat it, I play for fun and every once in awhile to actually beat the game.

only in singleplayer, never ever in multiplayer

tho i do some scripting like in games like Star Wars Empire at War and Lord of the Rings: Battle for middle earth series - so i can get larger armies(like 10-20 times bigger) because got a kick*** computer now than i had then

There isn't a "only when I completed the game" option... I'd be under that. I don't cheat to beat the game, unless looking in a FAQ counts...

The only game I ever really cheated on was Tomorrow never dies on PSone. I can still remember the infinite medikit cheat; select, select, circle, circle, L1, L1, R1, R1

only to make an old game interesting. i never cheat when i first play it but once i've completed it i may do some cheats. most of the time i don't anyway

I don't usually cheat. I only do it to avoid mind numbing tediousness, ball breaking difficulty (and after I've tried 100 times and failed), or to see part of the story I could only see in another playthrough, which I won't do in some games. It's still a game. I want to have fun, not be frustrated, and I want to see the entire game (e.g. in rpg's like NWN2 MotB).

Only once I've already beaten it....playing KOTOR with 999 strength on taris is fun.

I have a character in oblivion which I especially use for testing the mods I download, among other things. I'll also mess with the Age of games and other games that have joke codes like that. I try not to cheat in legitament gameplay, but I always say if you can do it without codes or exploits it isn't cheating.

Only on Fallout 3 and Oblivion the cheats are so fun I complete games first on the hardest difficulty I can then mess round or if im just bored so yes I guess I do.

After I've beaten the game, I'll allow myself to use a few cheats, just for fun. That's usually the only time I use cheats, but occasionally, I'll break that rule if I'm stuck. And I mean really stuck. Like, "been in the same level for a month" stuck.

I made a game of cheating with my friends in saints row 2. With evil cars and unlimited ammo we would see who could get to the closest side mission on foot before they were rammed by a limo and sent sailing fifty feet into the air.

if i after 100 tries i still fail ill use a cheat, the last time i cheated was in half life : episode 1 at the last fight whit the strider, but that was because i haven't noticed the path that lead behind the trains to the bazooka.

but i usually avoid cheats unless im bored then a little bit of god mode and infinite rockets make the time pass so much faster.

I only cheat when I get bored with the game and still that only adds maybe 2 or 3 hours of fun to the game.
Take SR2 for example, sure the cheats are fun but eventually you've done everything possible including landing a attack fighter on the highway.

i used cheats on GTA IV but saints row 2 cheats were much more funny and enjoyable, hell, even Red Faction guerrila had funner cheats than GTA

Only when I'm bored, or, in a game like Saints Row 2, I just feel in a bad mood.

God mode + Infinite Ammo + Infinite Clip + Vehicle Spawn + Insane Weather = Rampage/Fun
