I drink, am a year underage and I simply don't overdo it. I mean, I can feel when I shouldn't be drinking anymore, then I stop. And I only get to that stage at the odd party.

Yesh! It's great fun to consume in large (but not so large as to lose your last scrap of dignity in the ensuing chaos) quantities at parties and to enjoy the occasional cold beverage when watching a movie.

Every now and then, I'll have a glass of wine or a sip of good liquor. Not a fan of beer, although I'll try a new brew to see how it is. I delight in Gewurtztraminer and am fond of Liquid Cocaine (Rumplemintz, Jaegermeister, and Goldschlager in a shot glass. Think candy cane with a serious kick).

Drink to excess? Not if I can help it. I've done my share of getting seriously intoxicated and experienced the feeling of losing total body and brain control, which I found quite funny at the time. But alcohol, particularly good alcohol, should be treasured and savored instead of just tossed down for the sake of a buzz.

Being a mix of German and Australian, I cannot survive without a drop every 2 hours.

On a serious note: I'm of legal age (18) and have a drinking night maybe once a month. Never been drunk, never want to be.
I thought this was cute. I am a mix of Irish and German, so I can relate to your comment, even if said in fun.

I'm 18 too, but am not legal yet till I'm 21. I too may have a drinking night once a month and never have been drunk either. Also, never want to be.

I drink a lot but have found that I can't drink as much as I used to when I was a kid.

Rarely (maybe 2-3 times max every 6 months). I'm not really a party person, even if I party sometimes. The only alcohol I drink during meals are ciders with a low alcohol level (2,25% alc.) and I only drink those when I'm at my parent's house.

edit: I get it, I should try it before I condem it but honestly, I just don't want to like it, I have already a problem when I drink too much soda, don't want the same to happen...
Soda is much more harmful than any alcoholic drink.
Source? You can't just state that and not back it up.

I drink quite a bit, both socially and to let off steam on a night out. I don't see the problem with getting drunk on a night out, but then I'm not the kind to go out starting fights with people or whatever. I see it as part of a learning experience, and I think a lot of the kids condemning it will soon change their tune once they start getting older and getting invited to cool parties and what have you (yeah I'm generalising a bit, so don't bother with an indignant reply if you feel somehow wronged). You grow up, you drink, and you learn your limits and have experiences that can only help you later in life. As has been said, alcohol gets rid of all our inhibitions and shows us at our most honest. This isn't always a good thing, but then, so much in life isn't. If you're genuinely a good person, then you have nothing seriously to fear from getting a bit drunk with mates. If you're insecure, you might be a bit more unstable when you're drunk. It's all part of our learning curve through life.

Honestly, drinking leads to socialising with people you'd never ordinarily meet, and that's only a good thing. I'd encourage anyone who's anti-drinking to try it, go out and get drunk a few times, and if it's not a good time, chalk it up to a bad experience and don't try it again. At least you know and can make an informed decision. If you do enjoy it, then good for you! But don't be holier-than-thou about it when you haven't tried it, especially not when you're a 16-year-old keyboard warrior who just hasn't been to a grownups party yet.

I can compare those two because that's what alcohol is; Poison.

This has nothing to do with "self righteousness", this has to do with that it turns people into bloody morons.
But go ahead and drink! Perhaps when you accidently kill yourself or someone else or mess up a relationship and blame it on "I was drunk!" you will understand.

You can take your group mentallity and stay far away from me as possible while I'll take my inviduallity and go the other way.
People like this little gem. Honestly, this attitude would drive me to alcoholism. You want to be seen as an individual on the internets. How punk.

You don't know jack shit about alcohol, clearly (it's not poison just because it can kill you in excess, too much of ANYTHING will kill you), and you're either massively intolerant to the level of the Westboro Baptist Church or trolling, though I suspect the former. This has everything to do with your self-righteousness. Honestly, telling people you spit on them, you deserve to have the taste slapped out of your mouth. You're not special for trying to make yourself look superior on an internet forum. You're not an 'individual'. You just give decent straight edge kids a bad name. You don't like alcohol, that's fine, but your tone and attitude stinks.

I have tried alcohol before but I did not care for it all that much. It is the taste of it that made me dislike it.

24. I've tasted various kinds of alcohol, and I'll have one glass or shot if something special is being served, but other than that I completely avoid the stuff. Don't care for the taste, mostly, and it doesn't mix well with my medicine.
