You know the tricks.

Item duping, perma-stat boosts, and the rest in Oblivion.

Pretty much anything regarding Morrowind. Dear god, that game was so easy to break with alchemy. Not to mention any of the other myriad glitches.

The scrap metal glitch in Fallout 3. Don't know many others, didn't care too much for the game to play it more than once.

The selling glitch in Dragon Age.

Well, do you exploit glitches like these?

I don't, for the record. I try and play the game the way the developers intended.

No, although that could be because by the time I find out about them, the developers have already released a patch to fix the problem

I did with the duplicate item one in Oblivion. Largely just because it was fucking funny to shoot hundreds of apples all over the street. My friend once filled his waterfront house with so much fruit that the game crashed whenever he tried to go in it.

I also made use of the glitch in Fable 2 that allowed you to change your system time to earn massive amounts of money from real estate. I don't really see that as abusing something though, just using an unintended consequence to circumvent bad game mechanics.

Depends how easy it makes the game.
Do you like to play as hyper-broken characters? Or a nice balance of difficulty, then?

Usually I don't play RPGs or anything where you have any sort of stats or special items because I'm a boring person who rarely leaves the Racing / Shooting Genres.

But on the chance that I am playing one of those games, I have exploited single player glitches before. I usually don't unless I'm either really screwed over or just want to breeze through the next level or something.

Sometimes. In Halo: Combat Evolved, I found a way to get through the fifth level faster than the more widely known, 'grab-the-banshee-at-the-end' trick. There was also some improvised roof-running in Halo 2 I exploited. In general though, I try to play the game as opposed to breaking it.

Haven't really played RPGs so I can't comment on them, but I have exploited glitches in boss fights when said boss fight is beyond my ability. Although I usually keep at it until I can legitimately beat it... unless it's something that's more time-consuming than tough.

It all depends.

Like, in Kingdom Hearts 2 there is a spot with infinite respawning enemies that are weak to thunder and can be oneshot with thundra. You use the XP skill to double your experience when low on health and force yourself to near death by like, falling or something. Then you kill the enemies for an hour or so and you are level 99.

Is that an exploit?
Basically, yeah. Not really a glitch, but certainly an exploit.

Hell yes to the shit yes I'll exploit the glitches.

Makes the game either easy or just plain hillarious.

Rarely. Not on purpose. Especially if it's a stat boosting glitch because then I don't feel like I'm playing the game fairly... all the challenge goes out the window when you glitch. But sometimes it can be fun...

I find it cheating and I rarely...Rarely Ever do it.

Now, if the game is one whole glitch? Then I do. It's fun that way.

If there's a glitch/exploit/bug to use, I will use it.

Breaking a game is always fun, especially if it's the second/third/fourth time through a game.

Not particularly, unless the game itself is so damn broken that I need to glicth/exploit to continue. Of course in that case I probably won't keep playing.

Depends on the glitch and how far i've gotten in teh game normally.
-- With morrowind, I've played the crap out of that game legit and illigit, so screw it. Exploit away!
-- With Fallout, i would console page unlock just about everything since i despise the lockpicking and hacking minigames...and its not like i got all that much extra stuff for it either. Just a few extra caps and some more ammo which i could have bought anyways.
-- If all i want to do is experience a game's story, then sometimes i might tank the difficulty and such since I'm not really interested in the challenge. Did this with Nehrim at Fate's Edge (oblivion full conversion. pretty fun). I usually end up rolling up a second character to do it all again legit though afterwards.
-- For Mass Effect 2, I downloaded a save editor so i could get around the pointless mining bullshit...and i also gave myself some cash. Not like it helps all that much when all you can buy are 10% damage increases, which you'll own 75% of normally by the end of the game.
-- Gotta love toying around in Starcraft and GTA ^_^. Cheats on, fart around, have fun.

This morning in the new Borderlands DLC, Robot Robolution, I had to exploit a glitch because this one mission had taken me almost an hour and I was really sick of dealing with it. You had to find three components to a generator that would eventually turn on three turrets. I found two and was wandering the entire town for about an hour or at least 45 minutes when I noticed that in the first spot I had found one of the components, it had respond giving me the third I needed. When a mission stops being fun I assume it's failed at it's job of being a part of a "game" and then I exploit it just to get it over with so I can actually have fun. Cheating? Yes. Justified? I think so.

Only if I absolutely have to.

For instance, in Mafia 2, there's one part near the end (if you've played it, you know what I'm talking about) that is idiotically difficult, and I needed to exploit a glitch just to get past it.

It's not really a huge deal to me...I don't play games to get satisfaction out of overcoming challenge, I play to have fun, and if there's a part that's not fun, and I can cheat my way past it, why not?

Oh, and someone above reminded me...the hacking mini-game in Fallout 3. If I don't guess after a few tries, I always back out and try again so I don't blow it.

I abused the SHIT out of the item dupe glitch in Oblivion. I used it on a magic ring once (worth 300 coins) and it duplicated literally THOUSANDS of times. I think I ended up with something like 2500 of them. It was ridiculous.

Last glitch I actively used was the item multiplier in Pokemon blue. C'mon, if I can get basically infinite masterballs why shouldn't I?
I'm part of the game, if the game lets me do it without punishment I don't see why I shouldn't. If you found a helpful real life glitch you'd also try to exploit it, wouldn't you?

the main reason i came to the (spoilerish) scorpionboss in God Of war3 is due to the All-Weapons-At-Best-from-the-start-exploit.
and now i am stuck :|
