Absolutely. If a game is truly enthralling, I'll play it until my fingers bleed. I've replayed the first 4 Syphon Filter titles at least 10 times each, Freedom Fighters at least as many playthroughs out of me, I have a Platium run on Bayonetta's Infinite Climax difficulty (would be pure Platinum, but the damn driving missions are so ridiculous I was happy enough with Platinum), and I've lost count on how many Fallout 3 completions I've done. Sometimes a game world is really engrossing, sometimes the gameplay is too much damn fun, and sometimes you get that rare breed that has both, and you couldn't drag me away.

Very rarely, in that case it is often after several years since the first playthough.
The only games I think I've finished more than twice are WarcraftIII and the early Pokemon games.
I'm not too much into replaying, not even stuff with multiple endings or similar things.

Depends honestly. Games like the Mass Effect Trilogy, or Dragon Age or some super long RPGs like Fallout or Skyrim I want to finish them more than once, but there is simply sssssssssooooooooooooo much needless filler. Like you don't notice the first time around because its all new, but additional playthroughs really show off how needless 50% of those games can be. And at that point I'll just watch important cutscenes on YouTube and call it a night. There simply isn't enough differences between one Fallout or Mass Effect playthrough and another to justify the 100+hrs of fucking about.

Other games I want to replay, but can't because its just not the same. The Amnesia Series, or Silent Hill games. I want to feel scared playing A Machine for Pigs, or Silent Hill 3 / Homecoming. Those games scared the shit out of me the first time around! Not so much SH2. Never understood why that one is so great, but I digress. I wish I could erase my memory of both Amnesia games and play them again. And its even more tragic knowing there won't be a 3rd Amnesia game.

And others, like StarCraft, Rollercoaster Tycoon or Dungeon Keeper 2...is it fair to say you replay those games? I mean to you ever finish playing Skirmish generator games? I'm not convinced...

I think the only series I ever just replay because I enjoy them so much would be the entire Bioshock series, specifically Infinite. I could play that game so many times.

Absolutely. Assuming of course that the gameplay is solid enough to warrant a replay.

Halo 4, for example, is something i keep coming back to every 6 or so months. It plays really well and the campaign feels like an action-heavy adventure that doesn't overstay its welcome. Definitely one of my favorite games.

Grid is another game that I've played about 6 times now. It's a fantastic racing game with possibly the best handling model that's a perfect balance between sim and arcade.

Oh, and Monster Hunter, for obvious reasons. The gameplay has enough depth and variance that even 500 hours doesn't do it justice.

Yes... and, I love it that much, I would want it to bear my children...

Other than that, the power of Fun is a hell of a drug when certain video games are involved from my perspective...

Yup, if they're fun enough first time round and I want to go for the achievements.

And there's certain games I'll play every once in a while anyway.

Usually only games with non-linear stories and/or choice systems. I never replay games just for a "complete on x difficulty level" achievement, to my mind this is just padding on the part of publishers.

Depends on the game. Some games, I have played through multiple times, whereas with others, I tend to only finish once or maybe not even that. I suppose that it just depends on my enjoyment of the game, and the replay value.

Put it this way: I have completed Mirror's Edge about 55 times.

And I'm not done.

But that's Adrenaline Rush: The Speed Run Game. On the other end of the spectrum, I've still finished off the methodical and plodding Myst Online 4 times. And I'm most certainly not done that one, either.

There's usually a pretty hefty cooldown time before I can replay a game unless I really, really, REALLY loved it or feel my first playthrough was merely a "test/speed" playthrough and my 2nd is the completionist playthrough where I get all the side missions and secret stuff (not achievements though, fuck achievements).

Didn't pick a poll answer cos none really applied to me. The closest one seems to be to play them to 100% but I couldn't give a toss about doing all achievements and getting everything, I only aim for MY 100% which is different to the game 100%.

It depends on the game. I don't often replay New Super Marios too often but there are some RPGs that I'll go through more than once. I just started playing Shadowrun Returns for the first time as an example and, I foresee myself playing through it multiple times...based on the fact that I played Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 multiple times and I see SRR as something similar, if more nuanced.

I sometimes replay entire game series (several times) if I like them well enough. The last time was the Silent Hill series (this was more than the third time for many of those games), in anticipation of playing Downpour....which I subsequently dropped after a few hours (hugely disappointing game). Resident Evil, Castlevania, Persona, and the early Suikoden's are some of the others.

Most games I replay at least once, often several times. If I really enjoyed the story and the world a whole lot (and especially if it's an RPG that allows custom character and different approaches to the main plot), I will often replay it again immediately after finishing it for the first time.
That's how I know DA2 was such a terrible game. Not only did I end up having to force myself to finish it, the one time I picked it up to try to replay a second time I just couldn't get past the first ten minutes and had to uninstall. DA: Origins, on the other hand, I have completed at least ten times so far and probably will again in the future.

If I really like the game yes sometimes several times, some examples are the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, Metro 2033 and Last Light, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason, Tie Fighter... well you get the idea.

It certainly depends on the game, but in general, yes. Especially with games that have a progression system (such as RPGs or games like Metroid), I like firing-up a new game just to get that feeling of starting fresh. Most people hate it because they're so used to the power that they had before, but for me it gives a feeling of "Wow, so this is where I started" after knowing how powerful you can get later in the game.

I also love the feeling of openness now that I'm on a fresh playthrough; maybe I'll go for a different character build, or maybe I'll anticipate how I'll handle certain encounters that didn't go so well the first time. Anytime I start a new game of FFVI, for example, there aren't really builds, but I always look forward to some pivotal moments like when the story splits into three segments, or when you first get Materia, and others.

I've even restarted games multiple times without even finishing them to begin with. I rarely finish games in the first place, so to say that I replay games is a bit... disingenuous. Although, I have, on occasion started New Game+ with certain games. I only replay RPGs with a choice system in place if I wasn't 100% satisfied with the choice that I made, so games like Fallout and Mass Effect are automatically out of the running.

If they are good enough, i'll play it again to 100% it. While i would say that i'd still play a game again if it was REALLY good and i 100% it already, I have yet to ever go back to a game i've completed 100%.

The ONLY exception to this I can imagine is in co-op games, as runs usually feel completely different depending on who you play with.

If I ever replay a game, it means that game is special enough to me that I can enjoy it a second time. This is the reason I tend to avoid single-player games though. I never make alts in MMOs for this same reason.

It really depends on the game. I've spent countless hours on the Mass Effect Trilogy, and I still play Mega Man X off and on after 20 years. If a game can pull me in I can sink tons of time into it. The most recent example is Hyrule Warriors, in which I have currently logged over 235 hours.

Nowadays it's a very select few games that are able to keep me invested for longer than my initial play-through, some games I don't even make it that far. Unfortunately there aren't many games nowadays that catch my interest at all.
