Everybody has occasionally disliked a game that (seemingly) everybody else loves and praises, it isn't rare.It just shows how diverse we are in taste and that's a good thing in the end.
Generally those same well-liked games tend to have sequels, and those same sequels tend to bring a lot of hype with them. This hype can be annoying but it can also shed some light about what will be improved in the sequel and if it will be worth playing despite the dislike toward the previous game.
My newest case in point : Oblivion/Skyrim. I didn't like Oblivion a lot but I definitely will be buying Skyrim. I am not very optimistic, but I figured that the previous game does not always imply the quality of the sequel.
