Well, I've been thinking about this. The main reason for my sudden rush of thoughts is the fact that Cyrus has left Disney, and turned from a 'teen superstar' to a 'generic pop star', with the only remarkable thing about her left is that she is still underage. Recently, she performed on a widely watched British evening show, basically waving goodbye to Disney. Because of this, one 16-year-old girl that I know, who used to love everything Disney and fiercely defended it, has now had everyone gloating at her because Disney's flagship brand has sailed off and rubbed in everyone's faces.

So my questions are: Do you gloat? When would you consider it acceptable to gloat? When is it just to much that it Would Be Wrong to gloat about it?

Well there is gloating about something and stating facts. I'll give an example.

Say the best fighter in UFC (GSP) came out and simply stated that "I am the best fighter in the world, I'm definitely gonna take some beating". He is stating a fact, as he is the best, but this could easily be viewed as gloating or bragging.

I think people are entitled to talk themselves up if they have the results to back up the claims..So I would say gloating isn't bad but only if you are entitled to do so.

yes, i gloat. and once carma bit me in the ass for it, for gloating over my friend who broke cracked his shin in a rabit hole while we were running down a mountain in wales.
next week, i broke my other leg in 3 places in the most insignificant of scooter crashes the world has ever seen.
after this, i learned not to gloat....at him XD

Yep,I like to demoralize my enemy.

However the most demoralizing comment I ever made was "why I am sucking so much?" when playing guitar hero with my friend,we even calibrated the lag and such and after returning to the pro-face off mode,I noticed my friend was on the side I had been looking at.
Good times,good times.

I don't like to gloat/brag. When results come in it's usually good for me but when my mates get lower than me I don't really like to say much.

I jokingly gloat though sometimes, like for instance when me and mates have a halo session then everyones doing it, lightheartidly.

I don't normally gloat because I know how much it pisses people off but sometimes I do gloat just for a bit of a laugh.

In general it's a bad idea. You tend to look like a jerk/arsehole if you brag. and gloating will always end in you screwing up in the next round, and then you get laughed at.

However, that being said. Once i was playing a crappy "free" FPS and i ran into a particularly bad flying hacker.
And as it happened, with me carrying an RPG,i fired up towards, just 'cause.
But i ended hitting him. And i gloated. and it was soooooo worth gloating.
Treasure the time you have Gloat like hell.
And then promptly leave the room/lobby.

Only if its something I really care about, or if someone went out of their way to prove that I couldn't do what I did. Only then shall I gloat, and I shall gloat relentlessly.

I usually only gloat when victory is assured in every way possible (Doesn't happen too often) or if I'm particularly fired up (usually because I'm winning and victory is almost assured). I like winning. Don't judge me.

No, gloating is a terrible thing to do.

I only gloat if I win something, or if I'm right about something. Or if someone said something really stupid and I won't let them live it down.

But other than those and a fair few other scenarios, no, no I do not gloat. Because that would be awful.

I only gloat if the one I beat needs taking down a few pegs. I reserve my gloating for the deaths of aimbotters, script users, performing better than arrogant party members and generally besting unpleasant individuals.

No. It's one of the worst things a human can do and it's the one that makes me lose respect for people the fastest. If you're good at something, great, let that be a reward in itself, nobody else needs to hear how great you are.

yes but only when someone says "no you can't do it" or "there's no way" or something to that affect.
