Poll: Do You Hate Captchas?

It seems that a majority of the community here simply hates Captchas. I decided to make a poll to see if my observations are correct. I personally find Captchas to be a minor annoyance but nothing too major. I usually get every Captcha right and I rarely encounter a completely unreadable one.

Actually, no they shouldn't. That would ruin the purpose, and they'd only get harder to read.

Besides the fact that sometimes the letters aren't on my keyboard and some of them have accents and umlauts (not sure if those matter I just hit refresh), I find them merely annoying. If I posted a lot more, I would be more annoyed of course.

I understand why they're here, and I appreciate them for that very reason. But yeah, the captchas on this site are completely illegible a lot of the time so I end up having to refresh the captcha a few times just to see it.

I put myself down as "Neutral".

Hopefully I'll get around to signing up for the Publisher's Club sometime soon.

For each of those three all you would have to type in is:

racat
nlasse

And it would take that as correct. REcaptcha only ever checks one of the two words, the other you can completely ignore whether or not you could properly type it. Also they give you a one letter of error leeway I'm pretty sure.

So I really don't find them to be a problem, especially since they don't even come up every time you post.

I don't have to deal with them too often, which is a bonus for me. But it seems like quite a hassle, even a punishment, for everyone just to keep away the spambots. Like most people, I wish there was an easier and/or more tolerable way to do that.

As part of the Pub Club, I've fortunately never had to deal with them yet.

I seem to get caught about eighty percent of posts that I write, which given the whole 'random' thing which is supposed to make Captcha's better, really doesn't feel so random to me.

Also, when Captcha asks me to add umlauts to my letters, or gives me things combining a little something from everywhere on my keyboard (Seriously, what was up when I got 'g%fers~) when the e had an accent on it, I just want to destroy whoever came up with the system and let him rot. I once had to cycle through I shit you not twelve different iterations before it gave me one I was actually capable of producing with my keyboard.

And to add insult to injury, I've seen just as many spams as I ever saw here. We didn't seem to have a significant spam problem, so either I missed the memo where we'd been overrun, or it's entirely unnecessary.

I hate them. Especially during periods of time where I get logged out every time I go to different page on the site. Oh great, now I have to re-enter my post and put in whatever hieroglyphs Captcha unearthed from some lost Egyptian scrolls, and hope to Christ my post actually gets posted instead of getting logged out for no good goddamn reason.
