Isn't "Neutral" the same as "No opinion"?
Neutral is neither disliking it or liking it, tolerable. No opinion is that you don't have any feel for it at all.

I'm neutral. I don't have to deal with it anymore but when I did, I understood why we got them and I'm glad for it.

It really isn't that bad. Also it summoned inglip.

I don't really ever remember the Escapist getting attacked by spambots, but I'm not really opposed to them or anything. I like to try to guess which word is the scanned word, and switch it with something else, generally "penislol", but sometimes I get a bit more creative.

wow. captcha's try to do some good for the world, and what do you do when it asks you to do a little bit of good? 'penislol'. oh, the humanity...

As part of the Pub Club, I've fortunately never had to deal with them yet.
I was wondering what everyone was on about with all the Captcha topics. I remember thinking "The Escapist has Captcha?"

They wouldn't be so annoying if I could read half of them. I was recently tested for vision for a job prospect and came out with 16/20 vision and I still can't read the blocky, bolded, clusterfuck of letters they toss in there sometimes.

Trolling has never been easier? I can apparently do it on accident now.

What good does it even do, anyway? I mean, they scanned a word from...something? but can't read what they scanned, so we tell them what the word is so they can use it for...what?

I don't have to deal with them too often, which is a bonus for me. But it seems like quite a hassle, even a punishment, for everyone just to keep away the spambots. Like most people, I wish there was an easier and/or more tolerable way to do that.
Why not pull a Youtube here and only instigate a capcha when people post too many times at once?

What I want to know is if my Pub Club runs out, will I start getting Capchas? Spin said that "Spammers don't pay for accounts," so by that logic, a one-time PubClub member should earn a capcha-free permanent perk.

They're fine. I've not once failed typing one and it helps keep spambots away. It's only every few posts, so quit your complaining people.

Well, looks like someone's steamy romance novel is going to be a little bit confusing.

Ohh, speaking of which, I just got another capcha. In honor of you explaining what they do, I'll immortalize you in scanned text forever until someone fixes it.

I like the ones that just ask you to type a word, and the word isn't scrambled behind crazy amounts of text and grainy. There's just a word.
The other ones are just annoying.

That would worry me as well if I wasn't planning on renewing my membership.

Haha, same.
It was a full month or so of people complaining about the Captcha's here before I realised that I simply wasn't getting them because I'm a member, as opposed to everyone else going insane. >_>

I don't mind them. They are a little annoying, but they don't appear all that often, and spambots suck.

Someone should invent a program of some kind that can get through captchas if that's possible.
That is actually the exact reason Captchas exist, is so that programs can't get through it, but it's funny that your solution is the very thing it's combating.

If it's real words, I don't mind it, but I hate it when they make no sense. And I actually got this one right.

I'm not really sure why they added them in the first place, considering I've never seen a single spam bot on here. (Cracked on the other hand...)
If I was into conspiracies I'd say they only added them as an extra incentive to join the pub club, and that the captchas would progressively become more and more illegible until only pubclub members and people with mad guessing skills would be able to post at all.
But I'm not
I swear...

It has come to the point where I will just not even bother posting because I don't want to deal with the captcha.

i HATE Captchas, one time i got some strange letter that looks like a E turned so that it was backwards and a cross between an M.

The captcha this time? From loyan, atleast that one is easy.
