I made one a while back to get in touch with all the people in my class in my senior year of high school. Didn't have many friends, and I wanted to change that; at least for a year. Friended by almost all my classmates. I talked to some, but most of them either ignored me or blocked me. Apparently, my years of spite towards my fellow man had earned me more enemies than I expected, as most of my posts were either ignored met with ridicule and disdain. One night, certain events occurred (leave it at that) and I deleted my facebook (a process that is RIDICULOUSLY drawn out.)

So now, I create fake accounts and fuck with people safely behind a proxy. Fun times.

Just deleted mine, actually. There's three people I actually talk to, and I see them every day. Everyone just droped communications with me, even when I sent them an occasional message. I probably said something that pissed a lot of people off, so, I decided to just be done with it.

I don't have Facebook, never will. I dislike other people having access to my information on the internet. This concerns people I may know personally as well as random strangers. Plus I can't be bothered to care about what other people do.

At first when I got it in 2007, I had very little use for it. But more and more, I've begun to make more use of it as my life got more interesting. Nowadays, I post status updates of when I'm going to be hosting my radio shows (especially useful since I have relatives that occasionally listen using the radio station's website), or videos of any martial arts competitions I end up in.

I do make sure that whenever I post a status update, it's at least interesting to most people (ie: something I'm going to be doing that I think is awesome), and not some lame crap that no one gives a shit about like "OMG I'm so bored in class!"

On a side note, I find it amusing when someone "suggests that you like" something.

I first got mine so I could stalk the girl (innocently of course!) who would eventually become my girlfriend.

I use it everyday, mainly to supplement my Plurk and Twitter accounts, and for the Assassin's Creed app.

I pretty much hate Facebook... like a lot. For really silly reasons sure... but still.

I don't want to have one... and no one is going to make me have one.

Have one and I'm literally on it every chance I get, I don't really get why people would say that they don't see the need for one.

Everyone I know has an account and it's a great way to communicate with friends and organize events, I wouldn't do half as many things with my friends if it weren't for facebook.

If you're annoyed by people spamming your newsfeed with dumb status updates then just remove them or hide them. And if you're worried about a possibly employer seeing an incriminating photo of you or anything like that then you can just remove/untag yourself. Obviously you shouldn't be completely carefree and stupid about what you do online, you still have to be cautious, but don't let being cautious ruin something for you :/

I use facebook. I post witty comments, links to interesting stuff,etc. But, I also use it for the occassional trolling, which is usually quite successful

Nah, my 'social networking site' is called the pub. Call me old fashioned, but if I want to catch up with my friends I like to sit down and have some face-to-face banter with them. In the words of Dave Gorman: "That's one of the many things you do with friends - meet them."

That having been said, of the other people in my office at the moment, Phil used to be on Facebook but got rid of his account a few years back and Jo is an absolute addict who is online every spare moment she gets.
