Only in first person games. It's a habbit i picked up on the N64 with the original Turok. Man that was a fun game. I kept it ever since. It is a hassle when i have to passe the controller around though.

If im controlling any flying vehicle then I always invert it just feels natural. For third person camera I usually invert the X axis but keep the Y the same although I dont mind if its inverted or not here I can do both pretty naturally but non inverted Y feels slightly easier I suppose.
For first person I dont invert anything it just totally messes me up.

What if you were trying to aim at something that was at a higher elevation than your off-hand could extend upwards, would you go around to the front of the gun and lift the barrel higher with both hands, rather than tilt the stock down?
How would you even manage to still aim down the sights if you aimed by pushing the barrel and opposite end of the gun that you're suppose to operate?
If it was a camera, how would you manage to film something at a high elevation without getting yourself in shot if you only manipulated the pitch by lifting up the lens?
I always inverted when I was a kid. I distinctly remember a period during the PS2 era where that was the norm for third person games (although it's probable that that was only the case for a couple of games, but my memory blew it out of proportion). When non inverted Y became the norm I just adapted and that's how I play today. I still prefer inverted Y (for movement) for flying or underwater swimming sections. It just seems more natural that way.
I used to invert, but when I started playing PC games I lost it because of non inverted mouse. So for camera I no longer invert, but for actual control of a plane in games invert still feels right so I can still do that correctly.
Mouse: Never (forward is up)
Controller: Always, both for D-Pad and sticks.
Flight sticks: Duh, it's a flight stick, pull back to raise the nose, just like actual flying.
The why and wherefores don't really matter, but it's definitely my preference to invert sticks. I failed miserably on non-invert controls and certainly wouldn't buy a game that didn't allow it.

always , another early adopter here. i guess it was just the norm back before pc gaming (or perhaps i should say IBM compatible PC) first time i recall using a mouse to control a shooter was quake. too damn old and set in my ways to go back and learn to do it any other way now !

I really hate standard y-axis. I played a Naughty Dog event a month before Uncharted 2 came out and couldn't really compete thanks to standard y-axis until I just started doing melee only.
I actually did well and was second best on the kill ratio and won a copy of the game a month before it came out.
I will say I don't invert with mouse/keyboard though. That would be weird.

It is highly dependent on the game, and sometimes it seems like its almost a generational gap. For the Timesplitters games and the older Call of Duty games on the GCN and PS2 I do invert. But for PS3 games like Vanquish or Red Dead Redemption, I keep it normal. I honestly have no idea why, but I think it has something to do with each individuals games' design.
I always find it easier to look down by pushing foreword and up by pulling back. That's with analogue sticks, mouse controls, and joysticks/flight sticks. That's how it always worked best for me in any FPS, Flight Sim, and Mech Sim.
I only invert if it doesn't feel like a fighter jet. Up looks down, down looks up. Played that way for over a decade.
Funny thing - I grew up playing with the Y-axis inverted. My dad played SOCOM with that configuration and I inherited it by way of his save data. Luckily for me, around 8th grade I decided I was going to conform and successfully learned to play without invert pitch. I'm better at shooters as a result, but I simply can't fly an airplane without the pitch inverted.
