Every so often, we'll find something that we can consider maybe a little unknown. This can be a band, a game or something similar. It'll be so unknown that you know that if you bring it up in a conversation, you'll be able to look smug when people ask what it is. However, if you share with people what you've found straight away, you get the satisfaction of knowing you've helped that product by spreading it's knowledge. You also get to experience the glee of people finding out about it and enjoying it as well. So, when you find a reasonably unknown game that seems pretty good, do you share it usually or hold back?
It personally depends if the game is releasing betas to people. If it's not or it's released, I'm more than happy to share with everyone else. However, if it does have a beta running, I'm always tempted to keep it to myself just to increase my chances of getting inside it. Which then I can share the game with others with a slight smugness of satisfaction. However, I always feel tempted to share the game with others to get their thoughts just in case it's unknown because it's going to be a poor game and not due to poor marketing.
