Didn't we just have this topic? Anyways, I like it well enough when it's just parodying games, but when it uses the typical characters I don't really care either way. I can't really criticize those segments for not being funny though, Buckley obviously isn't trying to be humorous when he writes those.

Also, sometimes the game parodies can be really bad. Example:

So unfunny, even the crickets refuse to chirp.
I just noticed that your avatar moves from Busey to Busey with the same beat as Kate Nash's cover of "Seven Nation Army". Cool.

On-topic:

Ehh... I always found the main character to be terribly annoying. Stupidity as your gimmick only goes so far, and I've always found it difficult to really find "the adventures of Aspie McAsperger's" to be entertaining (also why I don't watch The Big Bang Theory). The comic always seemed a bit too full of itself, and the author seemed to push more toward "pretentious douchebag" over time.

In fairness, I also don't like Tycho from Penny Arcade either, since he strives for "intelligentsia" and is wrong in his word choice and grammar enough that it crosses the line twice. Don't bring the literary pretensions unless you know how to use them, yanno?

I didn't mind the miscarriage thing, I minded that the entire comic became all Ethan all the time, and all about him being socially maladjusted, incompetent, and moderately retarded. It's like watching the later seasons of Scrubs, when J.D went from "affable, nerdy, goofball" to "simply pitiably and insane"

If you're talking about the webcomic, then the answer is no
If you're talking about the specific keys you press, then the answer is still no

The webcomic is kind of on and off, with emphasis on the off. I like my gaming humour comics to actually contain gaming humour.

I read a few,the art styles are different, the stories are different. They are kinda like movies.

Not everyone likes a Tarantino Film, those basterds

The entirety of CAD is about as appealing as giving a gamer a show about drama rather than video games.
It even states that the comic is "a video-game lovers comic", but its gone from bad to worse, seeing as it has very little or no relevance to gaming what-so-ever (except the sillies section, that at least has a few little strips mentioning video-games).
The only thing CAD really is, is about a guy who spend very little time on video games + fake life drama, with the occasional splurge of video-games, mainly WoW. Yet it try's to portray him as someone who is an "obsessed gamer" when all he really does is obsess over WoW and few other well known X-Box games.

What really boils my blood though, is that he also pictures the character as the Messiah of Video-games, and to be honest it's pretty annoying when someone bluntly says, "I'm better than you."

That is why I dislike CAD...and a lot of other comics like it.

I only like it when it doesn't have a story line. He's a good joke teller for games, but a god awful writer of stories.

I did when I was reading it. It's one of the many webcomics I fell off at some point and never picked back up. I do remember really liking his video game concept parodies more than the main story, though I have a bookmark list of comics that I planned to use for quotes...

Like three years ago, I regularly read Ctrl+Alt+Del, but mainly it was my go-to only if Penny Arcade hadn't put up anything.

Now I only go there to go "has he made a joke yet?"

Yea... CAD's comics that are about games (like today's) are usually fairly good. The vast majority of the rest are just dumb.

This thread was just done a week ago. And I still like CAD

whoever said 8-Bit Theater was better though is totally right.

Been readin' it since #186. I miss Red Mage. Where did he gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Red Mage is there. Hell, in the last comic, he helped carry off Fighter before he could stupid Chaos into a coma. If you're talking about Black Belt though (who, as far as I can remember, is the only character to have disappeared), I have no idea.

Comic: Meh. Got bored once they put in shading D: 2002 FTW
Shortcut: Wow... you can actually run or close anything on your computer with this handy little nutcase. It was the only thing that worked when the virus smashed my computer, along with my WIP novel...

Rewriting a book off an old printed draft is alot more boring than it sounds.

And it sounds really, REALLY boring.
