I just noticed that your avatar moves from Busey to Busey with the same beat as Kate Nash's cover of "Seven Nation Army". Cool.PhunkyPhazon said:Didn't we just have this topic? Anyways, I like it well enough when it's just parodying games, but when it uses the typical characters I don't really care either way. I can't really criticize those segments for not being funny though, Buckley obviously isn't trying to be humorous when he writes those.
Also, sometimes the game parodies can be really bad. Example:
So unfunny, even the crickets refuse to chirp.

Ehh... I always found the main character to be terribly annoying. Stupidity as your gimmick only goes so far, and I've always found it difficult to really find "the adventures of Aspie McAsperger's" to be entertaining (also why I don't watch The Big Bang Theory). The comic always seemed a bit too full of itself, and the author seemed to push more toward "pretentious douchebag" over time.
In fairness, I also don't like Tycho from Penny Arcade either, since he strives for "intelligentsia" and is wrong in his word choice and grammar enough that it crosses the line twice. Don't bring the literary pretensions unless you know how to use them, yanno?
I didn't mind the miscarriage thing, I minded that the entire comic became all Ethan all the time, and all about him being socially maladjusted, incompetent, and moderately retarded. It's like watching the later seasons of Scrubs, when J.D went from "affable, nerdy, goofball" to "simply pitiably and insane"
