It's like that band GWAR. Rediculous costumes and glam stuff. All sort of a joke.

Gwar has funny lyrics...

So does Lordi if you listen carefully. Listen to the dumb crap in "Dynamite Tonight". That song is so stupid it makes me laugh. (My favorite song of their's, incidentally)

I feel alone when it comes to music here, everyone seems to listen to metal, while the only bands that are in my Metal playlist on iTunes are Evanescence, Nightwish, and A Perfect Circle. I swear I had no idea what that Metallica album thread was about until like 10 posts down because no one mentioned what the hell it was.

Music is about personal taste....... I like disturbed, Necroswanson doesn't but he showed me Lordi so that makes up for it..

I'm not really a metal-head either (I also like Nightwish though.) Disturbed are one of the bands the personifies what I hate about modern metal music.

They're pretty good, I really can't listen to them every day but every once in a while I like to sit down and listen to them.

Paramore on the other hand could loop 24/7 and I would never get tired of it.

Disturbed played 3 nights ago at a venue 20 minutes from where I live. I couldn't go because their show landed smack bang in the middle of QCS test.

The QCS test (Queensland Core Skills Test) is a 7 hour long exam spread over 2 days that every year twelve student in Queensland (Australia) has to sit if they want an OP (Overall Position - necessary if you want to get into university). It's specifically for Queenslanders because our education system is fucked (to put it politely).

One of my friends who was going to the show got sick and offered me their ticket. YES I WAS GIVEN THE OPPURTUNITY TO SEE DISTURBED LIVE FOR FREE WHICH I HAD TO TURN DOWN BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID FREAKING STATEWIDE TEST.

Rage successfully vented.

Personnaly I despise them. They sound very samey and appear to have majorly huge ego's. Ten Thousand Fists in the Air just sounds like a cry for attention

"Rap" and "hiphop" are music genres, not bands.
Don't generalise like that, it makes you seem ignorant. Rhythm+Beat+lyrics(optional)+melody=Music.
