For me, some JRPGs are fun and enjoyable. I am huge Tales Of fanboy. I love Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia to death. They are awesome games. Whereas i have hate the newish final fantasy games especially XIII.

absolutely love them! especially love Final fantasy X (+X-2) and XIII, Star Ocean series and Persona series. hated resonance of fate because i found it too hard.
Yeah, mostly handheld and classic stuff. I got kinda bored with Final Fantasy XIII (Although I don't think it's a bad game or anything) and haven't really picked up any other JRPG's on today's consoles. Some of my favorites are The World Ends With You, Dragon Quest IX, Pokemon, and Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 4, The World Ends With You, Paper Mario and Earthbound are a couple of my favourites, even though I've only beaten two of those. I'm also planning on getting Xenoblade sometime. Western RPGs, I don't really like them so much. Knights of the Old Republic just bored me after about an hour, and got sick of Fallout 3 in about the same time.
Some are great (Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean 3, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest VII), some are decent (Tales series, Pokemon), and some are just plain terrible (FFXIII, Star Ocean 4, Magna Carta).
It's a silly thing to say JRPGs suck, but it is an equivalently silly thing to say JRPGs are fantastic. There's hits and misses in any genre.

I don't have anything against any genre. I like any game that I find to be well-made.
I enjoyed Lost Odyssey, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Symphonia and Phantasia, FFIV, VI, IX and X, Persona games, all of the Mario RPG's, Earthbound, the Mana series and Golden Sun series (probably forgot a few).
Of course there have been quite a few horrible JRPG's as well, but it's the same with every other genre. And I find it hilarious that some people aren't even aware that they're being ignorant by saying that ALL JRPG's are turn-based.

Some yes, some no. I love the Shin Megami Tensei franchise (and NOT just Persona) and most Final Fantasy games, also TWEWY, Pokemon, Chrono Trigger, Mario and Luigi, Earthbound, and Mother 3
However, there are quite a lot of JRPGS that I found really unenjoyable (FFXIII, Eternal Sonata [I feel bad about saying that considering what it's based on, but it just wasn't executed well], Star Ocean, Grandia 3...).

Mostly the older ones. Particular standouts for me are Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, VII, and IX, and Dragon Quest VIII.
That's not to say I don't enjoy the newer ones if they are good enough. I just prefer the older stuff.
But to say all JRPG's suck...that's like saying all FPS's suck.
Edit: And I laugh at anyone who says that all Final Fantasy males look like girls. What, you can't tell that Barret, Cid, and Squall are males? And Zidane's constantly hitting on just about anything with boobs isn't a tip-off? Not all Final Fantasy males are Kuja, people.
