Nearly every very friend that I know doesn't like him, or even hate him, but I founded out no one has really has listened to his music and they have such a negative opinion apparently thanks to the media, except for a friend who like his music somewhat, specially the Eat Me, Drink Me album (that is my favorite album BTW). So I was wondering how many of you actually did like him. I personally do like him, but not so much, specially in his first albums.
So, what do you think?

Haven't really listened to him, so I can't really have an opinion. From what I've heard, there isn't really reason to have hatred towards him.

Yes, I do.

Although I do consider him a bit over-rated at times, I still frequently listen to his songs from many albums...

He's okay. I like the controversy and the whole thing with pissing off those stuck up "moral guardians" back in the 90s. Marylin Manson's a pretty cool guy... Feel free to finish that thought.

And I did hear that he's losing it nowadays. Can't really say, I've only listened to the older albums. I think the newest album of him that I have came out in late 90s... So it's songs like Nobodies, Antichrist Superstar, Beautiful People, Rocknroll ******, and all the classic stuff.

And yes, I'm aware that the latter is a cover. And a few of my other favorites are also covers by Marilyn Manson, like Sweet Dreams. I just like the new sound.

Manson is a very well spoken individual, and he did an interview on Fox News with Bill O'Reilly, it's a must watch.

I started listening to Manson 15 years ago and I can tell you without hesitation that Eat Me, Drink Me is the worst album he's ever made, and every person I know who's listened to MM for that long agrees with me. The High End of Low wasn't complete garbage, but he hasn't made a good album in 10 years, since Holywood. I sincerely believe he's capable of delivering another great album, but not so sure he'll live long enough to make it. I'd fucking kill myself if i put out 2 complete garbage albums as bad as Golden Age and Eat Me in a row.

Edit:
As I think it over I remember now why I stopped listening to depressing music like MM, because it kept me pissed off and depressed. So my advice is stop it. Break the cycle. It's bad for ya.

He does put on one hell of a show. Very much a spectacle. That being said I only like maybe half a dozen of their/his songs. Many of his hardcore fans are really annoying. Though you can't fault himf or that.

I don't like his music, but if you watch interviews and listen to him speak you realize he's a smart man with good ideas. So, I'm in the middle.

(Although, his cover of Personal Jesus was pretty damn good)

I respect him as a fellow Wonderland loving, god hating, gender defying, anarchic wackjob, but I don't listen to music sung in English, including his.

Where is the option for "grew out of it"?
I liked him as a teen, but as soon as the puberty angst pass, so did my taste in his music.
As long as there are depressed teenagers (those two words look rather redundant sitting next to each other), his music will sell.

While I do definitely like most of his stuff that I've heard, I don't like any of it enough to go looking for more. I suppose I'd count myself as someone who likes his music but falls short of being an actual fan.

Here's the thing: because of his portrayal in the media and his responses to them, I've come to really respect him as an artist and as a truly smart person who knows exactly what he's doing.

Having said that, I think his music ranges from merely "annoying" to "really, really bad."

Yes. Tainted Love Cover
Thank the heavens! Someone else liked his cover of Tainted Love!

I think, as an individual, he is incredibly well-spoken and undeserving of all the blame he received following Columbine.

His music, while I've not heard much of it, is pretty good. I especially like his Sweet Dreams rendition.

Yeah I like some of his stuff. Nothing powerful but I like his dark style.

He is very smart at marketing. He's got a strong fan base and making millions. He has gone too far on several occasions though(e.g. burring the American flag).

I've never liked any of his music...

Never met the chap so don't know if I would actually like him per se. His music does little for me. Plus he covered (I think) Sweet Dreams. So unnecessary.
