RTS in general gets a "meh" from me.

I've always had more fun with turn-based strategy (See Civilization, or Heroes of Might and Magic).

Only on the large scale though. Final Fantasy Tactics? Awful.

I have been addicted to pretty much every big budget rts that has come out since the mid 90's.

I think I just like the idea of being the boss of that many people.

I love Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. My late older brother turned me onto the game way back when it first came out and I still love playing it. I just the AI was a little more intelligent. -_-

There's nothing more thrilling than watching your Kirov Airships approach an enemy base or sending 10 prism tanks to eradicate the enemy! >:-D

Iv'e been playing RTS for a long time and a good chunk of the C&C series is my fave RTS from old C&C to Red Alert 3 which i still play these days along with Generals ZH+mod(Generals Shockwave).

Nothing is more worse on RA3 than having these obliterate your base from afar.

I think RTS games are good games and is the most skill reliant genre. Problem is, I'm a terrible gamer so can't play them to save my life. So do I like them? I guess I'm just neutral.

i like medieval 2 total war. even though its part turn based.

I do like to play an RTS every now and then.

Makes a nice change from all the RPG's and shooters I play.

I still maintain that World in Conflict is the best RTS game ever made. Just saying.

I would hesitate to call the Total War series RTS. Much of the action takes place turn-based style - I've spent more time poring over the campaign map than I have commanding my troops in real-time.

One of the first games I ever played was C&C Tiberian Dawn, when I was like 6-7. I own almost every C&C games but the latest and maybe 1 or 2 others. I love them..... not all RTS games but alot.

And may I bring up the undisputed king of all RTS games. Total Annihilation. And it's fan made cousin Total Annihilation: Spring. Spring is a 3D gaming engine developed by some 3rd party group for TA and some other games have used it. I'd love to play it or even the original again but I'm on a fritzy Mac. Getting Windows when I get a new comp.

I like RTS, but I've been stuck in the era of Dune and Warcraft RTS. I liked Emperor:Battle for Dune and Warcraft 2 the most out of what I've played.

C&C Red Alert 3 (HUGELY DISAPOINTED)
Total War (Never got in to it really)

Nope, can't stand 'em. I like competitive gaming, and absolutely love the fighting genre, but I loathe RTS games.

RTS isent competitive?! dont know where you got that from but mp RTS is about as competitive as you can get in gaming and e-sport! in sp RTS though i can agree with you.

Or are you just like Yahtzee? you dont like mp unless they are in the same room as you?

Well, seeing as one of the top three of my all-time favorite games is an RTS...I'm inclined to say yes. I like them.

However, it's sort of a love/hate relationship with me. There are some RTS and TBS strategy games that I love wholeheartedly. But then, there are some that I fervently dislike. Take for example Warcraft 3 and the Command & Conquer games. Don't like 'em. Do not like playing them at all.

But then, there are ones like Starcraft, MechCommander2, Civilization, Company of Heroes, Populous, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Homeworld. All of which I love. Greatly. The latter two being two of my favorite games I've ever played. (with Homeworld being in my top 3, as mentioned before)

So, once again, yes. I like RTS and TBS games. Does a game being in this genre mean I automatically like it? No. Is it my preferred genre. No. But there are some really fantastic games that exist in the genre and, without them, the gaming world would be poorer for it.
