Me I love it, it is fun to watch, I get to learn about different warriors and weapons, and nothing is more awesome then seeing that final fight. As for my favorite fight, I enjoyed the Mafia against the Yakuza, hopefully in season Three we might see the Yakuza face off against maybe the Drug Cartel or something.

Seriously though, this show inspired me to make a fanfiction version using the format, only using fictional characters. (PM if you want the link to it)

EDIT: Also I know not everyone likes the show due to reasons ranging from weapon testing, to the simulation bout itself. Please you may bring it up but don't act like a jerk about towards others

The weapon descriptions are interesting, and the final fights are decent. Since everything else tends to be patently absurd or idiotic, overall I dislike the show.

I haven't got cable so I haven't had the chance to watch it, but it sounds pretty interesting. It reminds me of that show that followed a similar formula, except with deadly animals instead of people.

I remember that, but if I recall after 2 or 3 episodes it was cancelled

Fuck no. it's garbage. it's a bunch of 'doctors' with nothing better to do than say "hurr hurr, okae u gyes-- hoo wud win in uh fight, ______ er _____?"
i'm also surprised they managed to find a 'doctor' that resembles Dane Cook. ugh, Dane Cook.

Why do people put stupid joke answers in their polls?!

Urgh...anyway.

I've never seen a full episode of it.
I remember seeing this versus thing they did with the IRA versus the taliban.
The IRA won.
Western terrorists > Eastern terrorists!
Thats nothing, in Season Two, Waffen SS against Vietcong, then as a Season Finale, Navy Seals against the Isralli (*SP) Commandos

It's pretty cool to see all the different weapons be put to use and the final fight at the end is usually pretty entertaining so when I watch I generally tend to watch for those reasons.

As far as their methods of gathering data, I'm pretty sure most of it is pretty inaccurate, particularly when two similar weapons aren't compared with the same test.

Overall I enjoy watching the show but I don't take it very seriously.

The IRA won.
Western terrorists > Eastern terrorists!
Or Western Freedom Fighters > Eastern Terrorists depending on your point of view.

The historical and scientific accuracy is a bit wonky, but it's entertaining. And that's good enough for me.

I like it, I always liked the episodes with the older warriors. When you get to modern, the weapons are very similar.

"What's this?"
"A gun, it shoots a lot of bullets"
"What does the opposition have?"
"A gun, it shoots a lot of bullets"

At least with the old warriors you have a variety of weapons from clubs to short swords to long swords. The weapons are actually memorable.

I never did figure out how they come to some conclusions. Isn't the idea of an experiment is only change one variable and see how that variable changed the result? They usually get two different tests for the same kind of weapons. For example, you get two swords, with one they have the person stab a gel torso, while the other person they have him cut at a couple pig carcases. Shouldn't they both test the same thing for accuracy.

At the very least the show has some discussion value, I talk to some of my friends about the show quite often because there's a lot speculation as to who should have won, which weapons were better, and other concerns I listed previously.

I won't lie, there are inaccuracies up the wazoo with this show. but it's kind of a guilty pleasure for me. At the very least, it works decently as research material for my RPG group so we can mix up the "fighter" equipment a bit.

I won't, however, defend the videogame adaptation.

Too much bias and uneven testing. Like the Spartan vs Ninja stuff. A good ninja would probably win if its not a face to face battle. Lose epically if face to face. But you would not have a race against a fish if its not in water.

I'm going to go with the fun, but inaccurate statement.
I cringed... CRINGED when they had the ninja against the Spartan. There is absolutely no way in hell a ninja would take on a Spartan, in broad daylight, and give up the element of surprise.

Yeah, he has a huge shield but it means very VERY little if he doesn't have any of his buddies helping him with it while he's sleeping.
