Well i really really enjoy baroque music. The original and modern adaptions and modifications of it.
Real Modern Classical music isnt my cup of tea. Like with old books, even reprints, i love the heavy feeling of age an importance the old pieces are radiating.

I'm into classical, though my real musical passion is orchestra and instrumentals, old or new, music without lyrics is awesome!

Well Escapist's.
I'm a big fan of classical music but of course I listen to all sorts of it, except for rap and hip hop which stands for retards attempting poetry.
(No offese towards well, retarded people)
Well I listen mostly to Beethoven,Haydn,Chopin,Mozart and Schubert.
How about you escapist's?
That's a bit harsh towards rap. I myself enjoy some Eminem every now and then.

OT: Sometimes, if I'm in the mood. Mostly I listen to metal, but classical is never wrong.

I listen to classical violin and the like when it's performed by Emilie Autumn.
I'm not opposed to other kinds of classical, but I prefer violin solos.
Anything with a violin or harpsichord.
Yes, Emilie Autumn is quite awesome indeed.

I'm a Chopin man myself. Damn you Eternal Sonata. I many of the other composers as well, just not as much as Chopin.
And me. Chopin, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, and Beethoven. I acknowledge that Mozart was a musical genius, but I dislike his work. =/

How can people not like Chopin, when he wrote things like this?

I really love violins and especially the harpsichord, so sad that instrument isnt really used anymore.

Listening to classical music to me mostly is a mood thing. I know that there are very.... emotionally intense compositions - yet, when i'm in the mood for classical music, then i usually instead want something that provides a background atmosphere. So, even though i do listen to classical music, my taste is rather narrow in it.

I've listened to classical music since I can remember. Yet Hip Hop is and will always be my true love and passion when it comes to music.

It makes me laugh when kiddos hate things they know nothing about. Have a nice time growing up.

Lol, nope, though I do have one song which is not played with electric guitars and drums. Antonio Vivaldi's La Primavera.

I don't mind it, but I need to be in the right mood for it.

This for me, is timeless. The orchestral version is equally as good.

I don't listen to it every day, but a few times a month when I'm relaxing I may wander over to a classical internet radio station for an hour or two, or play some of the classical on my computer. Mostly Beethoven, Bach and Mozart. I can listen to pretty much anything but rap/hip-hop too.

Classical music is my life... I listen to it, I play it on the piano, and in the orchestra.. my favourite composer would have to be Beethoven (symphony 5, 9, and the appassionata, just to name a few of my favourites...) I also enjoy Chopin, Rachmaninoff, i love to hate Mozart (not because of Mozart himself, but because everyone assumes he's the best, when he's not...)

How about you escapist's?
....No Offense.

But you listed only TWO classical musicians.

The other three were ROMANTIC composers.

And BTW, I listen to Hiphop and some Rap does that meke me retarded?
Classical music is in fact several era's.
For instance there is the baroque, classical period music, romantic music and then modern classical music which have composers such as Igor Stravinsky and John Adams.
If I would have said classical-era music then you would have been right but you're not.

I never said that you were retarded, just rap.
Because I think some rappers insult poetry by calling them selves "poets".
*Pinch nose* True.

and on the subject of Rap, It's IS poetry, just a different kind. Urban almost, sure what they saying is wrong ~and stupid~ it is expressing themselves.
Take this verse:

It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is

is it a rap or a poem?
I have no idea what it is but this is what I consider poetry:
Suddenly the night has grown colder.
Some deity preparing to depart.
Alexandra hoisted on his shoulder,
they slip between the sentries of your heart.

Upheld by the simplicities of pleasure,
they gain the light, they formlessly entwine;
and radiant beyond your widest measure
they fall among the voices and the wine.

lt's not a trick, your senses all deceiving,
a fitful dream the morning will exhaust---
Say goodbye to Alexandra leaving,
Then say goodbye to Alexandra lost.

Even though she sleeps upon your satin.
Even though she wakes you with a kiss.
Do not say the moment was imagined,
Do not stoop to strategies like this.

As someone long prepared for this to happen,
Go firmly to the window. Drink it in.
Exquisite music, Alexandra laughing.
Your first commitments tangible again.

You who had the honor of her evening,
And by that honor had your own restored---
Say goodbye to Alexandra leaving.
Alexandra leaving with her lord.

As someone long prepared for the occasion;
In full command of every plan you wrecked---
Do not choose a coward's explanation
that hides behind the cause and the effect,

You who were bewildered by a meaning,
whose code was broken, crucifix uncrossed---
Say goodbye to Alexandra leaving.
Then say goodbye to Alexandra lost.
What I posted was about a man procaiming that he want violence to stop, his friend is dead and he dosen't understand why people are just randomly killing one another.

It can be considered both a Poem and rap.

This is a poem too:
will offer you this wise piece of advice
It's a simple fact of life that never fails
It's this if you like to scratch your bum
You should never bite your finger nails

It's guite similar to your "Poem and rap" in the sense that its interpretations are limited and possesses no structural or vocal aesthetic value whatsoever in which case I personally think it's not art, merely a wall of text that rhymes.
