Toonami was a part of my childhood that I will never forget and still consider the best thing ever shown on CN.

It saddens me though how newer generations wont ever see it in favor of mediocrity that is now shown.

I know adult swim shows anime now but i was introduced to anime by Toonami.

Shows like Dragon ball Z, Gundam Wing, Cyborg 009, Rurouni Kenshin, Ronin Warriors, and Yu Yu hakusho. (Just to name a few.)

So how do you feel about Toonami?

I miss it. I remember coming home after school and watching DBZ, G Gundam, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Hell, I remember when I was a kid in the 90s and they had the midnight run. That was something special back then.

I can't remember if it was either USA or Cartoon Network's Toonami that got me into anime. It was nice for a while, but it was bound to end. Anime, to me, always seemed like a niche market, and I didn't think they were going to find a large enough following to keep it around. There was too much story for kids to keep it around. Plus, most of the people who would be interested in it, would be getting subtitled versions rather than dubs. I know I did.

It introduced me to anime.

The internet, however, introduced me to good anime.

I'm glad it was there. I'm not sad that it is gone.

I miss Samurai Jack and TMNT a bit. I do, however, not miss that horrible Batman series where Bruce is an old man and he lets a spunky teenager touch his new upgraded suit. Only Bruce can pull that off.

I was introduced to anime through Toonami as well. But o well, it was good while it lasted. Besides, I'd hate to see it go downhill any more than it had already.

I miss the one that was on weekdays. Everything after that wasn't very good.

I especially miss the shows with giant robots, such as gundam, robotech and zoids.

I loved Toonami (though I just had to vote for pie...)It was the basis of my childhood :D

Everything died out when they got rid of Tom, me thinks. It went downhill, and every time I occasionally visit CN, I witness more of my childhood dying. Recently, it was an even unfunnier version of Americas Funniest Home Videos with 'generic black kid' who told 'jokes'.

The only thing I didn't like about Toonami is that it seemed to cancel all the good shows just when I got into 'em. Rurouni Kenshin after only a few episodes, methinks. Yu Yu Hakusho, very close to the end. Because of this, I have vowed to rewatch these awesome animes, and am already done with one: Yu Yu Hakusho. I now know why they canceled it (decapitations) and I truly love the anime, more so than before, now. I watched it with english subtitles though, so that helped.

Back on topic, yes, Toonami was the only thing that made Cartoon Network awesome. When they ruined Toonami, the rest of the network fell soon along with it. Thanks for reminding me of this. I can sulk over my childhoods' grave again...

I miss it. Really it was the only thing passable on the ol' CN for a good while. Especially Ronin Warriors. and G Gundam.

I miss the old toonami that had Tom(voiced by Steve Blum) with Outlaw Star, Rorouni Kenshin, and Yu Yu Hakusho not the most recent one that played 4 episodes of Naruto a night...

Toonami was great... Until they replaced the Badass tom with the stupid kiddy tom and his buddies.

PIE FOR EVERYONE!

More to the point: Toonami was a good introduction to Anime for those who would have never otherwise been exposed to it. However, most of it was so cut up that you could have mistaken it for anime for kids shows. Unfortunately, that is the outlook on most (even ones like Elfin Lied.)
