I tend to take RPG's as an excuse to explore a different person's perspective on the world. For example my Fallout 3 character had a green Mohawk and killed anyone so long as the price was right. Not really much like me at all

Take what you will from this, but when I'm given free reign over my character's appearance I tend to make him/her into a ridiculous Mexican parody. If possible a Luchador.

I just love Mexican culture, I guess.

I do for looks, just because I'm too lazy to make something up, decisions I just go with what I find best to the game.

Oh the hilarity

OT: Sometimes I do (not so much looks, but decisions), but usually.... no

Not as far as looks go. I don't make the character look anything like me, actually, but the decisions are all the choice that I would personally make.

Looks no i try to make my character as freaky looking as possible.

I try but fail...badly that being said I just make someone with awesome eyes everything else is a wildcard.

Decision wise I do what I'd do in everyday land.

That is very disturbing sir. You have won on that accord, if such was your intention.

OT: On decisions, yes. Looks no. I generally play female characters, as to create masturbation material not have to be a man for once in video games. The voice tends to be not as great either, and I don't really want to have to look at man butt the entire time I'm playing a game.

Ugly shepard approves your post (this is his happy face.)

Oh my god, I just died from laughing. It's funny because the standard shepard voice, totally does not fit that guys looks. Ugly Shepard.... fucking awesome.

OT: I try... but it kind of take alot of patience and actually some real skill. Everytime I do I usually end up with something that looks like either

A- my retarded love child.

B- My dream image of me, you know the most perfect looking versions of our real self that we all ahve.

C - Robert Downey Jr.

I can't really explain the last one... it just sort of... happens. Maybe I need to talk to someone about it.

sometimes, it depends, for example, in Fallout 3, I'm a hot brunette with shoulder-length hair but in Saints Row 1, my guy looked like an older version of me if I'd had my skull crushed in various ways, now in Saints Row 2 I'm a muscly african-american with blonde hair which sort of matches mine.

As for my Xbox Live avatar, when the NXE first came out, I modeled my avatar as close to me as I possibly could but gave myself some nice shades and sweet shorts but now I've got green hair and a bunch of stuff I wouldn't be seen dead in.

I tend to make an "improved" version of me, i.e., vaugeley similar appearance, but much more handsome, and usually going through goody to-shoes till an NPC pisses me off, and I become an assassin

When I make a character, in any game that has customization. I brainstorm think of a personality for said character and a back story and then make that character look appropriate to that story and personality. Be it a male or female character.

No, because I'm ugly and stupid and if any of these game situations were real, I'd inevitably scare off any potential love interests and ruin everything.

Which, thinking about it, would make for a hilarious game.
