I was wondering this because usually I only read the Hot Threads section. But of course if everyone would do this then eventually no new threads would be added to the list.

So, do you only read "Hot Threads" or do you also frequent the regular sub-forums?

Nope, I generally just read topics that are new or recently posted in.
They generally get my attention that way.

I stay on the main page of then site and look at Lastest Posts. That way I get popular things and new things. Then I'll wander over to Forum Games and maybe User Reviews for a little while.

I only read threads that sound interesting to me. And usualy, the smaller the post count, the more likely I will enter.

edit: oh, and I like polls cause most of them don't even need a post to contribute to

No, I really only read new, interesting threads.

Posting on a thread that's already been commented to death doesn't hold much appeal to me.

I also read the "Latest Posts" but I tend to look in the side panel as opposed to browsing through the forums.

To be honest I wasn't aware of this "Latest posts" block, thank for the tip!

I spend my time lurking between Off-Topic and Gaming Forums and post in ones that I feel like posting in, not just the hot threads at the time XD

The escapist has been my startingpage since november 2007 and i watched the active threads whenever i opened the browser, something i did frequently. The last weeks though i've been starting to look at the subforums because hot threads is usually filled with threads were you just mention your favorite game, favorite weapon etc and then be on your way.

Nope!
I go all over the place. Except I don't go to the Gaming section quite as often as the Forum games. Off Topic is a somewhat distant second place.
So for new threads to contribute to, I use the hot threads block to the right. If something catches my eye, it gets clicked!
If nothing pops up there for a while, I actually go exploring the sections a bit.

Nope. I never visit the hot threads section.
I go in whatever forum I want and just go in the stuff that interests me on page 1.

I never select the Hot Threads thing, it stays on Latest Posts for me. Not for any particular reason, I just can't be bothered changing it.

Nah, I read any thread that interest me. If they happen to be on the Hot Threads list, then that's alright, but I'll just read whatever looks interesting.

No, I tend to stay away from really long threads actually. Too hard to read through it all sometimes
