So i was watching some TV and after an add for angels and demons it said "And on blue ray the best ways to watch movies ever!" I think blue ray is stupid if my DVD player broke I'd get one but I think it's stupid myself.

Yep, though never coughed up the dough for a BRD when the DVD is a little cheaper for no discernible (with my set-up) quality difference.

Watch most movies on my PC anyway.

There's one on my PS3, and I have every intention of buying Firefly on bluray (and Serenity). Other than that, I don't see the point (I recignize that I have an unhealthy addiction, but I need it).

Even with the fibre optic sound output I can't notice enough of a difference to justify it over DVD, and there's certainly no benifet to things that have been compressed properly and dropped onto USB (which can then be played through xbox 360, ps3, some tv, most dvd players etc).

I voted no, but I do have a PS3, just don't care about movies on blu-ray.

I don't know about the "best way to watch movies ever" but I do have a Blu-ray player and if you have a big enough TV, it can be quite amazing.

Nice. :)

OP: Yes (Not a PS3) it's in our 'Game Room' where my parents splurged and bought the Blu-ray player, a pool table, furniture, and umpteenmillion posters and knick-knacks (No, it's okay Dad. I don't have to go to college.) It is fan-freakin'-tastic, the opening scene of The Dark Knight looks especially awesome since it was shot with an I-Max camera.

My parents have gone on a movie watching rampage, lets just say they bought a blue ray player a fucking good TV and I cant talk to people on vent over the noise of the subwoofer. I have watched movies on blueray though, it is better quality but I would have to say we should have gotten a PS3 for the offchance it will be used for something more than perdy pictures (Not that theres anything wrong with that).

I had a ps3 on launch and bought a few blu-rays, now my collection is massive ( you can get a surprisingly good deal at columbiahouse canada, 1 at regular price, any other on that order for 1/2 price... works out to like 14 bucks a blueray ... new releases too ) and I just bought a bluray player for my bedroom ( blockbuster had a great deal and I had some credit there ). If you have a full HDTV and surround, its totally worth the money if you're really into movies !

My dad bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of being a bluray player, so yes I do have one.
