I rarely am lucky enough to find money lying around, but if it's anything more than a dollar, I'll pick it up... and I have pride. Money's good.

Found $47 one time on the floor of a supermarket. I remember that money bought me a game that day.

I found £10 at a party last night but I gave it to the host... it was his birthday after all.

I never pick up pennies or nickels, but hell, man, it's a recession. I can get a good snack from just a dollar or two, so I definitely grab 'em when I can.

Yes, but not because I want the money. I have this nasty habit of anthropomorphizing things, and if I see a penny and don't pick it up, I'll think "that penny is going to sit there alone and cold all winter, until it's swept up by some street cleaner and sent to die alone in a landfill somewhere".

And I'm not even high.

I pick up change all the time, though I don't believe I've ever found anything bigger than a quarter.

And yes, I pick up pennies, but only face-up pennies or "good luck" pennies. Down facing pennies are considered bad luck. It's ridiculous I know, but it's something my mother and grandparents would say when I was little and...well I think that some ridiculous traditions are fine to keep as long as you're not hurting anyone with them.

EDIT: and speaking of being cheap, it never really crossed my mind. Maybe it's a Texas thing but we think you're stupid if you just leave it lying there. Money is money.(except the bad luck penny!)

i probably wont pick up 1 or 2 cent pieces, but from 5 cent upwards its worth the effort.
I only once found a note of 10 DM when i was a kid, in the mittle of a forest. Was a nice day for little me.

I will pick up anything I see, not particularly bothered what people think, thanks to how my life is currently it's nigh impossible to make money myself dealing with family issues and a shit ton of college work so anything on the floor goes :3.

Depends on the coin and if I feel like it. If I see paper money I'll pick it up, that doesn't happen often though. I once found a scratch off lottery ticket that ended up being worth $50 but the person that bought it was too lazy to check the whole thing.

I pick up any money I see, mostly because my baby sister wants to take a trip to Cabo, and she's gotten me into the habit of grabbing every coin I sees on the ground so I can help her save up for it.

I pick it all up - pennies upwards.

I know it makes me look cheap, but being a poor student I can make that sacrifice if it means free money.

Largest I ever found was a tenner that I spotted blowing past our driveway through the bathroom window - I sprinted outside wearing nothing but a towel, but it was worth it :p

I'll pick up money but rarely pennies. It's an on-the-fly decision balancing the value of the money against whether I'm in a hurry and whether getting it will obstruct traffic - I won't stop to pick up a dime in a crowded hallway.

The largest amount I've ever found was a $20 bill on a Manhattan sidewalk. Nobody else even slowed down to look at it - I guess they thought it was one of those sneaky leaflets that have a dollar bill printed on the cover.

I don't tend to pick up pennies but anything else is insta-grab.
The most I ever found found was a 20$ bill that someone had left in debit machine when I was 7; I checked debit machines for money for a few years after that.

Interesting thing I've noticed. I was recently in Scotland, where they use the English Pound.
*ahem* Would that be the British pound (or pound sterling)?
Correct. As you may have noticed, I'm not British, so I could care less.

only if it is paper money.

Although if no one is looking and there is a £1/£2 on the floor, then I might be persuaded to pick it up :)

It would have to be a substantial amount, I don't bend over for a dime :p. Anything over twenty-five cents and I'm pushing people out of the way. The largest amount I found was twenty dollars at a grocery store.

I will pick up any money I find on the ground. The most money I've found is 100$ in a train station.
