I play L4D2 versus with friends almost every night, 4 of them are girls. I have another friend who I play various games with co-op, she's a girl. And of course my girlfriend, who I also play games with.

So, yes, yes I play games with girls.

I play CS 1.6 with my gf. She's a real gamer. She also likes dungeon crawlers and I can't wait to play Torchlight 2 with her. I'm pretty sure we'll play Borderlands 2 together as well. When you find a gamer girl you do everything in your power to keep her around. They are the rarest and most adorable breed.

i don't play with boys because boys get belligerent and rude if they find out there's a female about. so i stick to single-player games or share a multiplayer character with my brother and keep my headset muted. such is life. but i do have a couple of female gamer friends who shuffle along with me in the madness that is...

Well I am a girl, so that counts somewhat. My friends aren't gamers, but when they come around occasionally they'll want to try out one of my games for the sake of it, and end up really loving it.

Other than that, my sister and some people I know online. Believe it or not, it's likely many of you who have played online will have played with a girl at some point, but probably didn't know because of a lack of microphone and sexually ambiguous ID.

I play many types of games with my girlfriend. If she had a better computer we would be playing even more!

Wait, you'd need to take special notice to figure out if someone was male or female? It's not like it makes you sexist to say you regularly do or do not play games with a girl.

To answer the question, I sometimes play games with my girlfriend, particularly left 4 dead 2 around when it came out, Halo, and we played through the portal 2 coop together.

Erm, well I don't regularly play video games with anyone so...no I geuss. Although, I have been playing a bit of L4D lately and presumably some of the other players are female. Does that count?

It'd be nice if I actually knew anyone who was interested in video games but it seems I've just got unlucky. Sure, some of my mates play them a bit but they're not quite as involved as I am. Ah well, never mind.

I didn't say I wouldn't notice. I said I don't take special note of race or gender. I'm sure you would notice what the people on your street look like if you saw them, but I'm willing to bet you don't remember the ethnicity and sex of everyone that lives around you.

Most people who I actually consciously remember, of course I can remember there gender or ethnicity (although I don't know what this has to do with the topic). I may not remember every single person I've ever seen, or even met, but gender is one of the primary pieces of information I'll retain about people, even I barely know.

I'm far more likely to think "There was this girl there but I can't remember her name or anything about her." Than I am to go "There was this person there, I remember literally nothing about them, not even their gender."

I'm not sure I've explained this well at all, but basically, if you remember someone, you definitely remember their gender, as that's one of the most important and basic pieces of reference. You wouldn't know someone well enough to play a video game with them, but not know if they're male or female.

It just comes across that you're desperately trying to profess how much you see males and females (and different races) as equals, to the point where you come up with some rubbish about not taking note of the gender of people you meet.

Wait, you're talking about people you actually know and play with in person? I thought we were talking about just people you play with--like random people on your team, people in your guild, etc.

Haha there we go then. The way I took it from the initial post what other people have said I figured he more meant locally or online with friends. Ah well, at least I killed some time while I was meant to be working.

based on my experience, not many girls play AAA titles, when i'm on the ME3 multiplayer (i have a mic) people still go "OMG a Girl!!!" I play a fair few AAA titles and quite a few games that aren't, i collect and play a lot of video games, i must be a rare specimen indeed.
