With RPG's, fighters, shooters, and many other games now giving you the option to create your own character, do you find yourself playing the same sex that you are or playing as the opposite gender when given the chance?

In RPGs, I'm a man for the first run, unless there is a stat difference or some other major difference.

Fallout 3, gender didn't matter much, and females got a perk that added 10% extra damage against all males. And in that sausage fest of a world, that was very useful.

Female Orcs are better than male Orcs in Oblivion. 40 starting INT means 20 more MP for healing over the male's 30 INT. The male can keep his 5 extra Willpower and Personality over the female.

Mark Meer's Male Shepard has such a shitty VO compared to Jennifer Hale's Femshep.

Dear Bioware, please get rid of Mark Meer for Mass Effect 3. I don't care what contrived excuse you use for the voice change. An alien voiceification ray or whatever.

In fighting games, females tend to have the playstyle I want.

Always the same sex but I don't mind playing as women when i don't have a choice. I just don't see the point in playing as a women just for the sake of it.

Same with me. If I have the choice, I choose to play male. I'm not opposed to playing as a female character, but if the choice is present, I just prefer to be represented as my own sex.

Online I'm my own sex (male), offline I'm often opposite sex, just to change things up.

This applies to me as well.
