Well long story short I just got out of a relationship because me and the girl did not have much in common (my life is mostly video games, and she did not know how to hold a controller), so now I'm dateless before prom because I don't know if I want to start another relationship when there is nothing in common, just to have one.

I guess the real question is ( other than the poll) is it a necessity for you to have a girlfriend/boyfriend who shares your love for gaming, or can you look the other way for that and still make it work out.

No, but it is a nice plus. Especially since you can share something that brings so much joy to both your lives.

Nope, not in the slightest. There's a lot more to relationships than just similar interests, and gaming isn't something that would ever be high on my agenda when it comes to a relationship.

It would be awesome if there were some attractive gamer girls at my school who were remotely interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with me. Unfortunately there exists no such thing... *sad face*

Edit:
Actuall, if there were ANY girls interested in pursuing a relationship with me, that'd be awesome...

*Sadder face*

It's always good that the person you're with to share at least some of your interests, be it gaming, music, etc. There is that whole "opposites attract" thing, but in the end, you want to be able to do things you enjoy with someone who enjoys them too. Oh, and you should edit your poll to "girlfriend/boyfriend" cause I'm a girl. ^^

It would be a plus, but I don't explicitly require it. Then again, my standards aren't very high anyway, consider my non-existent track record.

No but it helps, I think. I don't know girls that well to give you a decent answer.

Ooh! ooh! I'm a nerdy girl who likes nerdy boys! *waves hand stupidly*

Yeah, should probably stop now, lest this turn into a "Seeking..." hook up thread. Lol. Then again, that might not be so bad.....

Not as of now, but I may in the future. It'd be nice to have something that you both liked to do, that you could do for hours on end. Just say'n movie = 20$ minimum for 2, for 2 hours. a 40$ game x 2 people = 80$ for at least 20-30 hours of play.

I don't require anything really, it's a matter of what I find attractive at the time. Of course, there's a preference that the person be a gamer or at least open to the possibility of games as it makes everything so much easier.

Pity the person shunned by their spouse's distaste for a hobby.

Hmm, these forums have users with quite an age difference. I understand why someone in school might ask that question. Myself being closer to my thirties, it would be pretty silly to have that as a requirement. My gf promptly awards me with the "I must be crazy wasting my time with a nerd loser like you, my mom is so right" look whenever I sit down to play something, but has been known to occasionally revisit her Fable 2 character herself. It's a mixed bag :)
