When the little labels went onto people's names indicating they had been banned for a post in a specific thread, I'd go find the thread to see why they'd gotten busted. After a while, the novelty wore off, in part because it was rarely anything interesting, just garden-variety post made of frozen Stupid. Once in a while my curiosity still gets to me, though. How about you?

I always check. It makes for a good frame of reference of "what not to do here". Learning from others mistakes is what's gonna get me that Neo badge.

This. Although I have been here a while and think I know what is and is not allowed here, it still helps to have a refresher every once in a while.

im just curious on how heartless (or Hillarious) the person in question was/can be.
depends on what really happened.
talking about how a kid dies over a video game argument or dispute.
and the guys asks something stupid like, "What did he drop? I have an open Trinket slot."
or something like, "Aw yes, he dropped Apolyon, The Soul Reaver! just what my 55 Warrior needed!"

I generally have a look. Sometimes to see if it's giggle-worthy (for stupidity) or just to see the blatant (sp?) ass-hattery.

I find that a lot of times when I look up the post that got someone banned it doesn't look that bad. I see worse posts on other topics(apparently no one reported those). Also, I've seen gamefaqs posts that are so dumb they literally invert reality and make stupid smart.

Almost always. For three reasons.

1. To not repeat their mistakes.
2. To have a bit of a laugh.
3. To know who the troublemakers are.

Absolutely. Normally the stuff that got them banned is funny, even if only because of the fact that they got banned for staying stupid stuff.

Oh yes... I do it in real life, too, so you'll see BANNED and go, "Hmm... Wonder what happened..." Usually, this leads to hilarity and joy (on your part, because you get to marvel at the idiocy of some people).

I always look, sometimes it's funny what people get banned/Prob'd for, other times it just makes me sad at how insensitive a person is being.(lookin' at you elgringobandito)

Yup! It always makes me laugh when you see someone make a fairly intelligent post, but they have 'probation' or 'banned' on their name, and you can click to see their moment of weakness.

Post 1:
Oh yes, poverty is a serious problem. I think capitalism is destroying true humanity.

Post that was banned:
I HAYT U! Ur stoopid! Ill punch you like that homless guy by my middle school that I'm that superest of all peeples at!

Aaaaaaand, commence chuckling.

Yeah, Like me, it was annoying to get multiple messages asking why I got Prob'd though, the mods deleted two of the posts on my triple post

I just got annoyed when I got a probation RIGHT AFTER I got my 1000th post, but before I got the Morpheus badge, so I lost the badge. ARGH.

You'd better believe it. I reckon that's the greatest invention in the history of forums. Man, if Romans had slaves who would announce the bannings of the week, when it was, then try to recreate the scene using dramatic roman slave theatre, then the Romans would be around today, swording things and building roads and bridges everywhere.

This is actually one of my favorite things to do on this forum. I'm excited/kind of embarrassed that it's so rampant. To be honest, I get a little excited when I see the grayed out post.
