I swear, but not out of anger, and not because I'm like those kids that are think it makes them cool. I just do it out of not being able to find the correct word fast enough, so that way I don't have a pause in my speaking or whatever. Like "There we were, and wouldn't you know it, Donnie Iris walks in. And he thinks he's some kind of god damn big shot." Stuff like that.

only in exceptionally rare cases, if im Extremely upset (hitting your thumb with a hammer is a classic example). I agree, people who swear too frequently really annoys me, but they are the ones that lose. ive met a few people who swear too often, and then they get into a situation when swearwords could make a point, put it loses all meaning cuz everyone filters out those words as meaningless and "normal" for those people.

All the time. I don't swear with every single sentence. For example, if I think something's cool, I'll say 'fuckin' A'. If I can't find something, I'll say 'where the fuck is it?'. If something goes wrong, I'll say 'aw, fuck'.

Sometimes, 'bollocks' will replace it, 'twat' can replace fuckhead, or more minor curses (where the hell, etc) may be used. However, I don't greet friends with 'how the fuck are you?' I don't say 'fuck dude, that's fucking awesome, man, fuck' or any of that shit.

Oh yeah, and shit is my all purpose noun.

In short: I swear a lot, but I don't go overboard.

...it's not like it matters. Swear words lose their power when people stop taking them so god-damned seriously. They're good for emphasis, and letting people know what kind of a mood you're in.

Swearing purely as an expression of anger is incredibly limiting... surprise, pain, elation, and so on...

When I'm angry it tends to become obvious from my body language, expression and tone of voice. I needn't restrict myself to swearing purely in that scenario; naturally, I've got different demeanours around different people, so I don't swear in front of teachers or much in front of my parents, but if I'm with friends, what's the point in holding back?

I go to a college so needless to say there are at least 3 people i regularly interact with who say the F word in every other sentence, ITS BLOODY STUPID!!! (bloody, you see? not swearing) If people swear all the time it becomes perfectly meaningless and you're left with nothing to show genuine anger except shouting and violence! So what about you? Do you swear?

....Also in college lots of people did but it was mostly the poser/annoying people but everyone else had grown up...so don't worry as you get older people will probably swear less. Or at least not use it as verbal currency.
