Poll: Do you take Yahtzee's reviews seriously?

For the most part it's entertainment but mostly the thing he rants about most is what I listen to because that's usually a game breaker

I take them seriously in that I know he means what he says, by which I mean the serious parts are sincere and the sarcasm reflects how he actually feels. Other than that, he's picky-- that's not inherently good or bad, just something to take into account-- and like most everyone he's a little bit biased, mostly towards Valve and stealth games and against realism done for no good reason and conversely regenerating health done for no good reason.

Actually, you'll notice that he normally overcomes his biases. I mean, he ragged like crazy on portal 2. He says he has a fondness for metal gear solid games (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/extra-punctuation/8432-Extra-Punctuation-The-Little-Touches-in-Assassins-Creed) and he obliterated MGS4. And I doubt he's alone on the regenerating health issue (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.299593-Remove-a-Game-Mechanic-from-Existence).

And he burned and nostalgia he had alive during the DNF review. And that's more than any nintendo reviewer from IGN has ever even thought about doing.

Are they one of the precious few "serious reviewers" that almost everyone is going on about.

(Yeah, I know General Vagueness, I know. You didn't say he wasn't serious. I wasn't referring to you there)

That was mostly to go with (or against?) the previous part to say that yes, there are flaws, I'm not saying he's the best video game critic.

Although its almost all criticisms in his reviews, after watching enough episodes you do tend to get an idea of what he is seriously criticizing and what hes exploiting for comic effect.

This. As a regular viewer, I've gotten to the point where I can tell when he hates a game and when he's just nit-picking/roasting for comedic effect.
